Yeeehaw, great fun returning
« on: March 12, 2001, 12:03:00 AM »
Yesterday was fun. 9./JG 54 had almost a full squad show up, 6 people all in all after a while.

Initially, the evening consisted of defensive and offensive fighter sweeps away from the main Knight hordes/Beeshrook masses, often climbing through the Big Borg Blob to get to the Wonderful Cloud above. VoX and I had some good runs, with VoX's better SA and judgement saving our @rse - I'm prone to overstaying and getting into trouble.

After a while, we went to 42, an enemy field. managed to get myself shot down in a HO with GTR's F4U-C - one of those cases when you're sure you've roped the dude and he is pointing down. But he ain't  . Frustrated, i asked everyone to remind me not to HO with an F4U (with a flurry of stuipd comment s as a result).

Nath, Kirin and Vox upped a flight of Arados from a base far away. me, being starved on buff points, had to go with a JU88. hich discoed as I reached alt and was about to go in with the Arados. Oh well, in again, up again, JU88.

Target was 42, no knights in area except SJ and some cons. Spotted Arados 12 oc hi, going in very fast. With an eye on my climb rate (.5K/m) and an eye on 42, I saw smoke starting to billow quickly followed by <Nath>FH's ded <Kirin> BH dead VoX <vh dead>. Called for a goon and proceeded to climb for run on acks.

Dropped, got bothered by peksy niki. Destroyed all acks but Niki killed the M3 otw.

Decided to intercept the enemy with Sj wo did a remarkable job, fighting 3 enemies with me who were coming and managed to distract them enough for Kirin's m3 to get there safely - took ages it felt like. And now the REAL fun started.

The Bi'shites, in their infinite wisdom, decided that they didn't really like us. At all. In fact, one could say that they positively resented us hanging around, chilling out, shagging their sheep and drinking their beer (which, incidentally, cannot justifiably be called beer. Antpiss is more like it). We started seeing F4U's, Zeros and Seafires and, being very intelligent guys, figured they must have had pontoons that they ditched since they came from the sea.

Fleet guns firing at our base, night time setting in. Base under attack from F4U's, Spits, Zekes and a host of different vehicles The initial attack was quickly sopped, but the second was more intense. By now, more kniggits had joined the fray and it developed into a massive battle. A big flight of enemy LA-7s swept in as I was egging panzers with 50kgs (I "marked" one with a 50kg for kirin, inadvertently killing it in the process  ). Check 6 call saved my life for the first time as an LA-7 closed and I spotted him D700 on my 6, with me in an F8. Managed to outscissor him. up in D9, defensive fighter sweep. KILL KILL KILL. Continued on for a good while before I had to log.

GREAT fun! Thanks kniggits for coming to our aid and thanks Bi'Shites for being single minded, committed suicidal hordes of aerial pirates  .
