I'm pretty sure the mirror on the Jug was the same model used on the Spitfire. I asked a Spitfire ace (Jerry Collinsworth) about that mirror and he said it was useful on the ground or for formation flying but worthless in combat.

Not me, the B model wasnt used in service in the PAC theatre. The B didnt even make it out of the United states for combat service.

P-47B`s were used by 56th F.G. in New York State for training purposes, but were left behind when they shipped out to Britain. They picked up C models there in November of `42, but the group did not see combat till the spring of `43 and these C models saw under 5 combat missions before they were upgraded to D standard. The early to mid Razorback D models did the heavy lifting in air combat for the 8th USAAF...

With and without Paddleblade.

As far as I know, no C models saw service in the PAC Theater either. Lot`s of early Razorback D`s tho.
