News: HT said he had clouds
« on: November 03, 1999, 10:28:00 PM »
Thought I'd let everyone ( reading this board ) know that HT popped in [ edit ]to the arena [ edit ] this night and said he flew through the first cloud in AH tonight.

Sadly no word on the Fw 190A-8.

Finally !

And I will go one step further. Fellow player told me they look as in SDOE. How, and where he got that info, I don'-t know, but I would surely like those

I asked HT about the clouds on the first day of the beta.  He said that they're very much like the ones in SDOE, except better    Don't know how much of "marketing" there is in that statement, but that's what he said.

Personally, I'm dying to see the clouds!  And then, if only they would tune down those id tags... Even better, I think it would be great if the tag would disappear completely if the plane was in a cloud.

But, I don't think the clouds add too much to the host's workload.  I believe the front end handles the clouds just like it handles the landscape. Atleast in SDOE, the host's FE gives a random number at the game start, which forms an identical cloud pattern for all players in the game.

Basically, all the host would need to do, is to give the "cloud pattern code".

Well, they made this great game already. So why would anyone think they can't handle the clouds ?

I second the motion on "Player ID/Icons" turn off when in a cloud. (Would sort of defeat the purpose of clouds if you could see people lurking in them by their Icons)

Man this is gonna make for some WICKED bounces.
"Who knows what's lurking in them there clouds"  MuHahahaha.  Scary.

Hope it's not a rumor.
Bring on the CLOUDS HTC !!

It is no rumor; HiTech was there in Bold Blue last night about 9:00 PM EST talking about the clouds. I was engaged most of the time and didn't read it all, but there was so much salivating going on I thought the runways had been foamed!
