There was a great show on PBS a while back, frontline maybe which described how hollywood has basically destroyed itself.  It doesn't matter if the movie is good or bad as long as you can hype it enough to get high numbers on the first weekend, even if the numbers drop drastically after that.  If you can do that, then you can make more money in the foreign markets, and since you can make more money in the foreign market than in the US, who cares if the American audience is happy?  The plot doesn't have to make sense because for the most part the foreign audience couldn't understand it anyway what with funky translations etc.  So as long as you have a good marketing team to build up the hype and lots and lots of explosions, you should make a profit, which unfortunately is all they care about.

C'mon, you knew it was goint to be terrible, why did you go see it?

I did not go see it. I saw the ad on my ISP's homepage. I have not seen a Friday the 13th movie since #2 (was the first and only one I saw) I think. It has been a long time and I know I will never see another one because of the idiotic crap they have in it.

I saw the preview for Jason X and couldn't stop laughing. I keep hoping this is going to be a comedy.

I'm not a big fan of the Friday the 13th series.  Not a big fan at all.

But I can't say that their presance on the market upsets me all that much.  If they can still make money off of it... then why not?  Its not like the script or plot can get any worse.

When I walk into a Friday the 13th movie... I pretty much know what to expect and am seldomely disappointed.  I can't say as much for most of the other stuff on the market.

How about this movie:

"Behind Enemy Lines".  Anyone see it?  I'd rate this as the kind of crap movie that really does piss me off.

"Behind Enemy Lines" was crap, you are correct.

Regarding Jason X, I will watch anything that has Lexa Doig in it. :D
