B-24D: Any Interest?
« on: April 26, 2002, 03:46:50 PM »

I have sent a couple of emails to HTC about a B-24D project but have gotten no response.  Figured they are getting spammed to death and don't want to sort through the junk so I decided to post here instead.

I know there are other aircraft higher up on the wish list and I'm impressed with the quality of the new aircraft.  But is there any interest in the Liberator from the bomber types who will fly them and the fighter types who will be shooting them down?

If HTC is interested, they can contact me.

Superpug is right, we need first a P-40 and then a B-24, maybe a J though.  How did you get that clip anyway?

IIRC the B-24 had higher production numbers than any other American plane during WW2. It should be in the game.

I'd love to see the B24D in the game.  In my opinion it would nicely fill a niche between the B17 and Lancaster in terms of defensive fire capability and bombload.

Suzy Q at the Ploesti oilfields

How it was done:  A 3d model was built in gmax as a test case to learn the capabilities of Discreet's 3ds max.  From there it was just creative use of the Alt-Print Screen and Photoshop to develop concept images.

I agree that a J version would be best; but once you had a J, you would never get a D for scenarios.

First a German heavy bomber is need, aswell and an Italian bomber and a Russian heavy bomber and a G4M. Allies have Lanc, B26 and and B17 already, B24 would be nice but not before the other countries have their fare share of bombers/heavy bombers.
