Heh, T10 is where I've got WEP mapped to as well.  You couldn't adjust the detent in the TQS, but you could remove the little curved plastic piece to completely eliminate it.  Or you could just use the throttle for about a year, and the detent would just wear itself out.  :)

The Cougar now allows a mix of analogue and digital input to an axis. I used the following lines:

in my .tmm macro file I had WEP = /P p /R p

and in my .tmj joystick file I had THR 5 1 (97 100) WEP

Using that the throttle was still putting 100% throttle into AH but at 97% of its travel, past that WEP would come in. I preferred a button but I suppose if you wanted to play about with detents you could set it up pretty good, I just could'nt be bothered and it was hassle to find the last few % of the throttle travel to get 100% throttle without the detent there.
