HE-219 or ME-410, Ta 154?
« on: March 12, 2001, 09:55:00 AM »
I have a strong passion for twin engine planes, seeing how we have darkness now, what about adding the night fighters?  Lancaster was mainly a night bomber, why not give certain planes an edge in night time, kind of like an IR look.  But in the day time they will not have the added bonus.  Being able to fly under neath a buff with the Shräge Musik installed and being able to hit buffs without fire from a ball turret, cept the 88 and 17.  Many things you can do with this, but adding night fighters would be a plus, they are not uber turners and not extremely fast 416 for 219, 386-95 for 410.  So what do you think more twin engine fighters?  Remember most had a gunner onboard of some sort.  Add one of these two and you can add all the perk planes you want, I would only fly one of these two.  We need a variety of planes, and adding late war planes really will upset the balance IMO.  Plane request

I love the 410 hate the 110, yes even the 110 but whoa what a slug it is.  Not to mention terrible defensive armament.  Unless they add the 110 with the MG-131 13mm on it in the rear.

Ta154? Schrage Muzik? What are these funny foreign terms?

Surely you mean Intruder missions and Mosquitoes. Yep, that's it, I agree whole heartedly, old chap; bring the Mosquito into AH! Let's make a silk purse out of this wild sau's ear....

I AGREE! After 1.06, I was thinking how we absolutely needed more LW planes.  HTC has been totally overlooking them lately.

Does anyone else ever get the feeling that some people just want to see certain aircraft added so later they can complain about HTC totally screwed up the FM?

Yeppers, bring on the MOSSIE. And it had several interesting variants, such as the 37MM cannon (anti-shipping version) and the night fighter version. MISSILE'S MIGHTY MOSSIE (TM) .... we need it NOW.

Umm, if I dont remember wrong, Ta154 was germans Lightning.
This schrage muzik (..whatever) was a weapon...
must been the one where guns were pointing upwards and shot when below the target plane.

S!

Schrage Musik was an installation of 2 x 30mm upwards firing cannons aimed by the pilot throught the top of the cockpit.A special sight was for that. The angle of the guns was about 45' to 60' if I remember right.Only drawback of this was that the bomber could hit the night fighter below when plummeting down or get caught in the explosion if the bomb load exploded. This weapon was very effective but lining up under the bomber in the darkness was not one of the easiest tasks to accomplish.

We need more LW planes. Please include them in your next release. Or I'll whine. You have been warned.

Thankyou.

Correct me if I am wrong, but I seem to recall the TA154 being developed because Hitler was so impressed with the British Mosquito........in fact, was not the TA154 called the "Moskito"?
Oh well, if it's LW, it will be put in the game.

I predict that we will get the Ta154 'Moskito' before we get the DeHaviland Mosquito.

OK, not really.  I would actually be shocked if that were to happen.

I do, however, predict that we will get the Mosquito B.MkIV and Mosquito FB.MkVI, thus keeping with the "The British didn't produce any aircraft after 1942 until they realized they were totally outclassed and then they produced a series of wonder planes." motif.

Darn.. I knew I should have put in my first choice for Ta154: "Twin engine fighter" instead of "their lightning"
