B-29 Turrets

Hi folks,

hope to adress some of you guys who knows something more tehnical arround the B-29.
I read that this bomber have remote controled turrets. How do they work? And how the operator aim with  such a gun?

There were two spotter stations on the B-29, one top and one bottom. I believe that the controls for the turrets were wired to the spotter stations.

B-29 got four remote control gun turrets and they were aimed from side, dorsal and bottom blisters. Pick is showing gunner and the remote gun computing sight. :)

I actualy got to sit at one of those stations, althought it was the one the bombader used, It was in FiFi at an airshow, acording to the B 29 vet giving the tour,the sight was coupled to a computer located in the back of the plane the computer did all the math, so what you did was aim the sight at the target and adjust a couple bars in the reflector sight to bracket your target this would establish the range and the computer would autamaticaly provide the right amount of lead on the target.
