Revvin you are a Prince among men. I am in your debt.

Turns out the only problem was a loose nut on the keyboard. I just wasn't applyin enough pressure to that switch. Workin fine now.

After about 3 days of stumblin thru Foxy and and the Cougar control panel it looks as if I've finally gained a modicum of understanding. Got all th buttons and hat switches doin what I want 'em to do. Got the x and y axis scaled so I don't spin everytime I try to turn.....life is good.

This setup is truly amazing. Never seen anything this programmable.

Thanks again.

It's pretty easy once you make a start, I used to own a TM FLCS/TQS but that wassome years ago so I was more or less starting from scratch. I've never used such a well put together application as FOXY, so easy to use and yet so powerful. My profile on barely scratches the surface of what can be done with this bit of kit.

I'm glad I could help you and happy that you are now enjoying your Cougar. As for you others guys...:) sorry for winding you up, I'm sure you'll get yours soon enough but for now I'll just revel in the novelty of Europe getting something before the US market does :p does'nt happen often!

Last question  Revvin, I promise  :)

With the airbrake in AH being  shift +c what would be the button statement to apply that in Foxy?

BTN 9 (what goes here?)

Thanks again

Well you could either make a macro called 'airbrake = SHF c' and then map that to the T9 button or just map the buttons directly to the button ie 'BTN 9 {SHF C}'

I think that should do it, curly brackets make the button carry out both buttons presses or macros together, for instance my HAT1 up position goes a little somethign liek this:

BTN H1U   /I /H {Look_Forward Look_Up}
                 /O /H Look_Forward

With just HAT 1 pressed up you look forward, if you press the S3 button with HAT 1 pressed up it carries out the look forward and look up command (keys KP5 and KP8) which gives you a view just over hte top rim of the cockpit. The macro's for these commands are:

Look_Up = KP5
Look_Forward = KP8

Thanks Revvin, I had tried that  "BTN 9 {SHF C}" but I get an error message.

I use rudder pedals with toe brakes hence the lack of any brake button on the stick although there are macros for left and right wheel brakes as well as the main brake button the spacebar in my profile so you could remap one of the buttons. Before I had rudder pedals with toe brakes when using a FLCS/TQS I used the S4 button for brakes.

I was usin and old TM topgun and had programmed the pitch axis in the AH JS setup. That same adjustment to pitch that worked well on my Topgun sends me into spinning embarassment with the Cougar. Any tips on how to scale the Cougar JS for us ham handed types so as to avoid death spirals would be greatly appreciated.

I've been experimenting with scaling the Cougar using the AH joystick adjusting method; I haven't tried the actual Cougar adjusting tools yet.

I've got a fairly stable scale although rather strangely it is only okay with certain aircraft types.  I mostly fly the Typhoon so I have it about right for that plane, and most others including the Seafire, but when I fly the Spitfire IX I get loads of nose bounce.  I had to increase the deadband to try and calm it down a little.  So, I'm still trying to find a decent scale but see below for what I'm using at the moment.  The Roll scale is just a standard curve with no deadband or dampening.

Pitch Scale:-

Hope this helps?
