ahh never mind, i found it.
under setup / gunsights / opacity.
that almost get's to the realistic look. but there is the issue of only one color in the .bmp being transparent. I think the way to get it to look more realistic would be to add some sort of opacity to pixels within the .bmp so that we could get more of a glowing effect. Like maybe a dark green (or whatever color your pipper is) would be at a 50% opacity when viewed in AH. The regular megenta would be the transparent. When we would adjust the opacity in the setup, to lets say 75%, the dark green becomes about 25% when viewed in cockpit and the green (or whatever solid color chosen for the pipper) would become 75%.
The problems i forsee is how would HT define a color to be 50% opacity in the .bmp. Lets say my pipper is green and yours is red. Well how would HT define pixels to be opaque in order for us to get the same glowing effects in our sights?
I guess these are the gives and takes of custom colors and gunsights?
