Yet Another Side Balancing Idea
« on: May 04, 2002, 05:36:57 AM »
A simple suggestion.

Why not give 5-10 perkies to players that join the side with the lowest numbers when they first log in.  Use the same 12 hour rule that prevents switching sides once perks are awarded.

This won't effect the vets so much, as they usually have some sort of allegience to a side and don't really need the perks, but it would entice the newer folk to fill out the countries evenly.  The newer players are sometimes enclined to go to sides with numbers for mutual defense and safety, but this might change their minds.

It's been introduced before that the side with lowest playernumbers could be awarded with extra perks or even points for each kill. It's logical because if odds are 2:1 getting a kill becomes twice as hard, or even harder when compared to being at 2:1 advantage.

I think that low number countries should be compared to the biggest countries number of players, then multiply perks/points with the difference. That is, country A has 200 players while country B has 100 players. For each country A player country B player kills he receives a double amount of points.

That would ensure that even if sides are jolted, there would be movement to the smallest country - all those people who now switch sides before reset and all those people who play for points / rank - they would move to the smallest country to get their points.

This would be MUCH more logical than the current movement to the winners side which a) does not even work regarding to perks because of the 12-hour rule
b) unbalances the sides even more in the end
