Ebb and Flow - not!

** Here's an ideal 'Whine of the Week' material for you fans out there. **

 These pictures were taken over the course of 1 week, from the last week of April to today (May 5th, Asian time). True, this may not prove anything, since one may arrange evidence in whatever point he chooses to make, but at least;

1) these pictures were all taken at time of log-on
2) these pictures were not taken on the same time(logged in at various different hours)
3) I stayed on for more than 2~3 hours each log on

.. whether this fact may not add more or not to objectivity is entirely up to you.

If I hadn't known any better, I'd either say the other countries are having so much fun in sadistic gang-banging that they are addicted to it, or there is some sort of conspiracy among you guys.

 "Ebb and flow"
 "Every country has their 'time'.."
"Numbers always shift, somebody always gets gangbanged.."
 "It's natural.."
 "It's not only you guys.."

 ..

for six months straight? (this is what my memory of last 6 months of MA tells me) or, at least if provided only we take what the picture tells us, for a week straight??

ps) a nifty saying:

" the most effective way of profitable 'competition' is destroying competiton itself through monopoly and consolidation, assimilation "

Well, I dunno..

After staying about an hour after log-on today, and getting sick of having every field I get up being vulched(and it wasn't even near reset too.. 17~18 fields or so. 7~8 frontline fields, and all of them under serious attack... amazing!) and logging off, I guess my point was sort of maybe people should consider moving to the Rooks where the numbers are really really needed.

Seeing countries stacked up with squads that boast 10~15 people on line simultaneously(when the largest number I checked today was the Rampaging Rooks with 4 guys on line...), I think I'm growing a 'numbers-envy'.

Having group therapies on "How to handle loss and devastation" on our country channel is getting a little old, too(you guys really gotta log on to Rooks and listen to it some time. It's better than soap operas). The 'hello' calls we give out when we log on are "Hello Rooks! Are we in trouble again?"

Thankfully the LLv34 and the Vikings have made gestures to move to the Rooks, but we are needing some more. Any volunteers to venture into the land filled with adventure, suspense and peril (without any gurantee of happy endings)?

ps) dang.. it's hard to whine while trying not to sound pathetic..

Uhmm, gotto agree with Cit no matter how weird it sounds ;)

Vikings and LLv34 changed to rooks, knights were outnumbered ALL night last night, at one time we had 22 people online, rooks ovre 40 and bish over 50 and knights were fighting both. We got reset twice in a few hours.

It's fun, more targets to shoot at although you gotto play it more carefull and maybe stick together more. Rooks are by no means outnumbered anymore.

Actually, we rooks dropped the hammer hard Friday night into Saturday (EDT)...two resets in eleven hours or so.  I think there were 206 rooks online at one point Friday night.

Still, it's nice to know I come back after a 4-5 month layoff, and nothing changes, rooks are still the underdog.  Oh well, more targets. :)

Uhhh....200+ and your the underdog? 2 resets in 11 hours and your the underdog?

Look, everytime I log in these past 2 weeks, the Knights are fighting to stave off a reset. No complaints, but please stop with the Woe is Rooks Tale. You've got the numbers now.

Ebb and Flow. Once the Bish or Knights start whining, we'll get some numbers back. Until then, we fight on.

Moose1,

You are correct on May 3rd during RJO Operation Checkmate the Rooks had 200+ flyers on from 8:45 pm - 11:15 pm EST (up to the point we got the reset). Afte that are numbers trickled off and I don't know how many we had up on saturday that got the reset.

But I think the title of the thread is appropriate and interesting. All countries I think suffer an ebb flow as the Europeans time slots blend into the U.S. time slots and then into the pacific time slots.

Also their is probably a more prolong ebb and flow as a country for whatever reason starts fielding less pilots (goes into a trough) and eventually will reverse in my opinion. In, my own squad we personally see people fly less hours toward summer time and then usually see things pick up again toward the end of August beginning of september.

I played some this Friday and Saturday where the Rooks won one reset and were very close to wining on another.

Nothing stops the whine like a little bit of success

THe real problem tends to be the way things go in huge cycles, and one country usually ends up on the short end fo the stick for extended periods because of the gameplay mechanics or a reset.

The losing country almost always loses players to other countries because for the final hour or so, the country being reset has very few bases, none of which are "safe" to take off from and many (or all) of which are severely limited in terms of fuel, weapons and even plane types.  I personally remember a week when I was "forced" to leave my beloved Rooks because for 3 nights straight when I logged on to play, we had less than 3 bases, and not a single field was available to take off from without being vulched.  The problem resolves itself somewhat as squads rotate, but you will still notice a predominance of one particular country being the wipping post for the other two for weeks at a time.

Nothing really needs to be done about it, as the problem resolves itself and the new capture system makes things accelerate when one country is down significantly, avoiding the long streches with one country having only a few bases.

See, this is where the perk plane system should come into play.

If your team contains less than 1/5 of the total players in that arena, i.e. 100 Bish, 100 Knight, 50 Rooks, then the perk costs should be removed from that team untill sides rebalance.

I betcha a bundle of cash the being outnumber, but being outnumbered while flying free Tempests and 262s wouldn't be so bad.

What Wilbus said...I will post my "Numbers" screen shots for the last week, every time the knits were outnumbered 4 to 1 (vs bishrook) and of course both fronts being hit hard.

Any squads want to transfer over and help us out? :D
