The available planes change on a regular basis.  One set might be early war, the next mid war, then late war.

AH has perks, WB has rps.  I like (or dislike) both systems about the same.  The difference really is mostly in the whines.

RPS meens that the Tour Of Duty starts at early war, so ONLY early war planes are available. In WB2.77 the TOD is 3 weeks in what time the planes come available one by one as the time goes on. After 3 weeks the arena is resetted and itīs early war again.

Basically it is a way within the sim to simulate "periods" of WW2 aviation.  As we all know, WW2 saw huge advancements in military aviation in a shirt time.  The kites that saw action in the Battle of Britian were, in many cases, VASTLY inferior to those who saw action in mid 1945.  The point of the rps is to allow the players to enjoy combat from all eras, and not limit it one era.  In AH, that is 1945.

In WB's, there was a LOT of debate when it first got introduced after 2.0 came out.  I for one loved it!

Actually,  a "rolling plane set" refers to the unit organization employed by political entities that somehow managed to acquire an air force but have no clue how to fly the newly supplied aircraft (an African tribe for instance). They push their aircraft to the top of hills, then roll them down the hillsides to crush their enemies. This usually escalates the war in a region where this occurs since the other side receives immediate support from a competing aircraft supplier. Before you know it, the newest and most expensive fighters are being used this way in significant numbers since they tend to be the biggest and heaviest--useful traits when using multi-million dollar jets to flatten opponents with downhill momentum.
