Urea

I have really dry skin cause I'm using accutane (which is why I keep crashing my plane all the time in the arena) and I'm desperately trying to find something to stop the dryness.

I've got Carmex for my lips but the skin is driving me insane.

so I'm looking around on the web for some kinda lotion (I tried to use regular stuff and it burned like all hell) so I'm hunting around and find this:

Can anyone tell me why I would want to buy something with 10% Urea in it???

isn't this what those hidden video shows are for??

honestly why are they selling urea? and why would anyone pay for it? and who exactly is donating?

still searching here, if anyone knows of a nice moisturizing, non burning, non perfumed skin lotion please feel free to help cause this really is driving me mad.

Actually Kanth, urea is a common raw material in chemical industry. It's used in making glue for example.

A mix of formaldehyde, water, urea and phenole creates a very sticky (and toxic) resin that is used as basis on many glues.

Apparently Urea, in concentrations in creams of as much as %40 is an effective treatment of "xerosis" or dryness of the skin. I would call a dermotolgist just to make sure.

You do realize that urea is not the same as urine? Urea is commercially produced from ammonium carbonate and is often used as a lubricant.

We always used it as a de-icer for the walkways in the Air Force.  It seemed strange to see it on a moisterizing lotion myself.

how about vitamin E that's suppsed to be good for the skin right?

it's a vitamin after all!!

so far I've got it narrowed down to the baby section at the nearest grocery store cause they wouldn't make stuff that would burn a baby's skin right? is my reasoning....

Been trying to get ahold of my dermatologists assistant for a recommendation but she's, of course, not answering the phone.

I'll keep trying and if not plan on some sort of baby skin product.

thanks for the information, I had no idea urea has so many uses and wasn't meaning urine.

Whatever you decide to use apply a small amount on an even smaller area of skin to see how it feels. If it seems ok then apply slowly don't go crazy as sometimes there is a delay in adverse side affects. Good luck!

3. Relieves Itchy Skin

I also need to make sure it doesn't have any vitamin A.
 I guess that is common in skin lotions too but I can't have any of that right now.

I'll look for this at the store tonite.

I'll also start with a tiny bottle just in case it does something bad to me.
