Why We Rotate Countries, By Eskimo of the Buccaneers.

The Buccaneers were originally a War Birds squad from long ago.
We flew Gold, and for Gold only.
We hated Greens, Reds, and Purples.
We literally Hated them all.
Along came the Historical Arena.
During the last year that we flew WB, we switched from the Main Arena to the Historical.
In the HA we would fly either side and would often switch sides nightly.
I/we soon discovered that some of our arch rivals were actually pretty good guys.
I also discovered that it is actually possible to develop a mild racist attitude toward a group of people in a silly computer game.
I personally, had more fun in the HA partially because I had no enemies.

In AH the Buccaneers started out as Rook, simply because it was not the default-new-guy country.
We switched to Knight because early-on, they were by far the under-dogs.
Two Tours ago we switched to Bishops because they seemed to be getting pounded, and we wanted some change.
We are now Rook, for the time being.
After spending time in each country, I can attest that each side has some: outstanding flyers, jerks, clowns, AH junkies, over-reactors, nice guys, and so on.

I think it's fine for some to remain loyal to one country only, for whatever reason.
I also think it's fine for some to switch sides, for whatever reason.

Speak for yourself, big guy! I switch sides because that's where our CO tells us to go and I'll be damned if I'm gonna be left behind and have to fly against the rest of you Buccaneers!

Yep, I think if your squadron is all in agreement, and no "defections due to disagreements with visiting country's" do not exist, touring is great if it fits your squadron charter.

But as Apache posted in another thread, don't expect alot of cooperation with some country's when you're not a regular country member when asking for combined squadron operations. Sometimes it will be there, but don't expect it to be a 'given'.

Just a coincidence?... but it seems most squad rotations always includes not being on the country that gets newbies by default.

I think dweeb is a word arrogant people dreamed up to label all those that don't have their skill level or don't fly they way they want you to fly, IMHO.
