Buffs in AH may be "Deathstar's", but remember that the Deathstar was killed by a lone fighter, and in 1 hit I might add. :)

It's out May 16th here too SAW.... but it's probably best to wait until the following weekend to view it in the states since the ticket lines are already being staked out by the geekiest Star Wars fan complete with full costumes. If a normal person tries to get into line, one of these rabid patrons will most likely assault you with a barrage of plastic light saber wacks to the groin.

So yeah, I'll prolly be seeing it the 18th or 19th.

This thread wasn't about the new star wars movie, it was counter (or an attempted counter) to all the "Fluff whines" that have been poping up.

What I was trying to say (in the message) is that some buffs maybe hard to kill but if done right you can kills buffs very easy, with little ammo, and usualy come out undamaged.

On a side, I will most likely see SWE2AotC on the 18th or 19th too. :D

So they're gonna start arming the interceptors with Proton Torpedos?

I'm still pissed at Lucas for that last travesty he called Star Wars Episode I.

Aim at the pilot, and trust in the Force, Luke.

Back on topic...

The biggest problem I had attacking buffs yesterday was forgetting that a Ki67 is NOT a fighter!  That 20mm in the tail came as a rather nasty surprise...

It was sad in the ackstar thread how many dont really understand the term "ackstar".

Ackstar = a bomber aircraft taken off by a tard, at a field under attack by fighters, just so he can use the bomber guns as a replacement for the downed ack at the field.

The term ackstar has absolutely nothing to do with someone on a real bombing mission, nothing to do with using your guns to defend your bomber on that mission.

It was much more prevalent in WB because all the guns would fire by "auto-gunners", so one guy could up a bomber and have multiple, high accuracy guns banging away.  Really a jerky move to pull.  Luckily its much more rare in AH, and that is mostly thanks to the lack of auto-gunners.

The closest thing AH suffered was jerks/fools who participated in the pathetic ack of "carbombing".  Luckily HTC eliminated that stupid practice.

I have all the respect in the world for those who accomplish tactical bombing mission in the game, and nothing but disdain (could ya guess?) for those who "ackstar".

I think Buffs on AH are a yoke.

Example #1

Me and my wingman both coming from left and right into buff.

Cofuse Buff Gunner <--- Needs to keep and eye on flight path. Man there is 2 P47 on my six 1 spit under me Fester wating to see who survive.

Wait another dot at 12.

Confuse buff pilot is dead.

How can one man do so much and survive. You can smoke buffs if done right they will never have a chance or a fighting chance against numbers.

We need to full crew a bomber. Death Star dam spits are Death Stars.

sure... fluffs are easy enough to kill but it is very bit as gamey as any "star wars" movie.    Fluffs are a drag in AH..  They are no fun to kill and no fun to let live.   Most people simply avoid them and head for the more interesting and realistic air combat.

Buffs are both very fun to kill and very fun to fly.  I get as much excitement out of forming up 6-10 buffs in a mission as I do going on a buff hunt with a 190A8 or G10.  Its one of the aspects of the game that makes it a well-rounded WW2 sim.

One of the more exciting missions was in the Special Events Arena where I was priveleged to lead 12 buffs into Germany, on egress, approx. 10 ME262's engaged our formations.  Due to the close formation flying and tactical Buff Boxes we all held, we shot down 8 and lost 2.  You should have heard that RW channel that day, it was a proud moment in AH history for Buff dudes.

If you look into history "Or ask anybody that knows about history about WWII" B17 Bombers have more kills accounted for than any Airforce combine in the entire WWII theater. So I don't think buffs on AH are a deathstar. Look good into history about best all around BUFF "No Need To Say B17" I know for a fact that they have more kills than any ace in the entire war.

Give me a break.
I started to write a lengthy counter to this garbage but why...it won't change a thing.  Anybody can log on this form and puke drivel like this onto the page as if it's true.

Anyway...back to work.
