If I was trapped underground, and saw a rat coming, I'd smack that diddlyer with a rock.

Kanth, thanks for the link. Personally it makes me glad there's PETA around to protect the rights of those who can't articulate for themselves- animals and, of course, hblair.

The site notwithstanding I don't see why you who condemned big game hunting for rhinos in Africa are such ardent diciples of guns and gun violence. Hey, don't get me wrong here, right now humans are killing more of each other than they are innocent animals, so that's the silver lining on the cloud at least.

Right now I'm chairing a new committee for PETA called ASS, or Animals Safely Secure. Our goal is to establish emergency bomb shelters for animals only should we come under nuclear or biological attack. We will have armed guards to turn away humans seeking shelter, but we will accept your pets and keep them sheltered until the toxic cloud has passed.

We are also working on legislation granting animals the same status of humans for treatment at public and community hospitals. Why should a human gunshot victim be priortized over a dog with a terribly painful burr in his foot?? Chances are the gunshot victim deserved it. The true victims here are the dogs of welfare families who can't afford flea and tick baths for their animals. If this legislation is successful we will have flea and tick bath facilities in every hospital in America.

We are also working to expand welfare eligibility to pets of welfare recipients. Why should a man with 9 dogs and a grocery cart get less money than a single mother with 9 kids and a Station Wagon?? Why are animals worth less than humans? There are some things I'll never understand about human nature. What gives us the RIGHT to abuse THEM?

I have to log off for awhile. I'm worked up and I need to rest.

Washington, D.C. — Reacting to an outcry from animal and victims rights advocates over its remote-controlled-animal surveillance program, the U.S. Defense Department today said it has fired spokesman William Longley.

In response, the Pentagon press corps ate a koala.
