Just Curious, but if the ack at airfields can be shot off and destroyed....WHY IS THE SAME NOT TRUE FOR THE SHIPS.....

If a 1000 lb bomb hits the water just beside the ship, it wont sink the ship, yeah, but you bet it will do some damage....
It should be modelled so that nearby bomb explosion or even a strafe by an aircraft should be able to blow off the guns......Maybe not the big ground attack/anti ship guns and their turrets....but certainly the anti-aircraft guns should be made capable of being damaged.
There are eight AA guns on each of the destroyers anyway.....
(I don't know how many on the crusier???)....
Should make the game more fun......and torpedoing a bit more realistic.....

yes right now attacking a ship is SUICIDE! Especcially in H2H where you are usuelly attacking them allone or with only 1-2 allies at the most, and torpedos are useless (They go way too slow and almost never hit infact I once dropped a torpedo right behind the ship and the ship out ran the torpedo!!!)

And its just kinda dumb a ship is either dead or alive it cant be damadged. (and if we add these features I'll have an even beter excuse for adding Fairey Swordfish :D  )

I found it quite easy just take a F6F load it with the two 1000lb. bombs and the six rockets and you'll do just fine:D

until you lose your flight controls but my strategy is fly to about 15000ft. 20000ft. and arm the 1000lb.er then go to the external view and wait to see the sweetest target Hint; the carrier and make a rolling dive on to the target spin to keep the plane steady then drop one bomb on the target if you miss drop the other if you have the weapons lethality on the defalt settings the bombs and rockets won't work,wait for the target to get almost under your plane for the bombing,after all the heavy firepower is exausted use the guns i sunk five ships with that good ol' bird
Had to do a kamakazi on one of the three remaining destroyers cause i did not wanted to be captured!
