That is not so uncommon. There are *alot* of families in Sweden with relatives in the US. I think it was in the early-mid 1800:s when one third of the population emigrated to the States. About one million men women and children. I know I've got family in Illinois somewhere. My great grandmothers (thats my moms, moms, mother) sister and pretty much that whole branch of the family tree packed up and left sometime around 1880.
And when one of those family members come to visit us back in the old country, man, that gets really emotional. And normally we end up having one he** of a party too.
