How about really cheap perk for osite ? Like 2 or 3 points ?
Maybe this way we would see more M16s and tanks ?

Just thinking out loud.

I've seen quite a few M-16's this tour for some reason.

I don't really see a need to perk the ostwind.

DJ, I could list about 40 600 yard 300MPH+ chasing/turning after a bogey reasons for it to be perked for cheap.

Thumbs up.  A lot of (air and ground) vehicles could benefit from a low perk cost, and the Ostie is number one on the list.

The Osty was the only way I could get kills in AH. Everyone who has responded and agreed to this post are AH aces, excellent sticks.

For us who are not good sticks sometimes the Osty is our only salvation. Our only chance to make a difference. To make an input, a contribution.

Actually my post here has no merit for I dont fly anymore, but it gave me a avenue to disagree with Funked, Verm, Dingy, Ski, SW, and vogel.  HeHe!!

Having fun in 1.06 gents?????

1) you only have 2 deaths to ostwinds in the last 2 tours.

2) You were dogfighting 600 yards from an enemy ostwind?

3) I am 18:2 against ostwinds this tour.

This tour I mad a conscious decision to attack ostwinds with the apropriate weapons.  All of my kills have been via tank (7 kills), Typhoon (9 kills via rockets/ 2 deaths), P-47-D30 (1 rockets kill) and Yak-9U (pinged him then bored him to death).

I fail to see the uberness of these vehicles.  I do admit that a mg armed plane does not stand a chance against it.. but should it?  The thing is extremely killable.. in a manner that aircraft aren't.  People simply don't practice at it.  After all.. its nearly imobile.. why should they?  All they really do is complain that it shot them down as they flew straight for it firing their cannons (at an armored vehicle) while it fires guns twice as big at a plane made from aluminum.

If they took the invisble force field from the top of the turret it would fix it. Any MG or cannon into the top of that turret should turn the gun crew into hamburger.

Yup, I was chasing an La7 doing roughly 300MPH after I followed him through a split-s. I was turning in to get a better lead shot when I hear "BANG! BOOM!" and I go spinning into the ground. I was in a P51B. The shot he had was 90 degrees perpindicular to my vertical stabilizer.

Kind of rediculous, all they do is fire away until they get that lucky one shot they need. I'm getting sick of getting shot at these extreme ranges during hard evasives chasing someone that would otherwise be blown out of the sky if it weren't for their wiener friend in his impermeable (to anything but Hispanos and the Yak9T)"tank" hiding behind a 37mm cannon that would blow up his own damn tank if he held down the trigger for that long.

Seawulfe, nice description of my deaths to ostwinds too  

That and being shot down by ack and the ostie gets the kill.

Gotta admit that I was hit by an Ostwind once this tour though, while dropping 50kgs on it.

A 50 kg very close to or on an ostwin should at least kill grun crew. As it is, it seems to require two direct hits from 50kgs to kill one.

50kg. That's a lot of metal and explosives.

the osty turret operator should easily be killed from above by a guns like the .50 and higher

I mean, what person could take 50 .50 hits?

hah .50cal should shred the gunner in one hit. 30cals should be able to take out the gun if fired from a high enouph angle.

I just got done dropping a 500kg bomb and 4 50kg bombs on an ostwind just to have it blow my wing off.      The ostwind is bull crap.
