Why can alot of planes fly with 1/2 of the wing damaged while other planes, with exactly Identical damage, lose control?

I've never lost a half wing on axis aircraft. Those .50s always take away a whole wing from d1000+.

Are you sure they're unflyable with a half wing missing?

109s cannot fly sans 1/2 wing. maybe different wing characteristics/loading?

FW is easy to land if both wingtips are missing.
Last time I checked (not purposely...) P-51 can maintain level flight without one wingtip in autopilot if you have enough speed. Try same with 109 ;)

I shot the wing tip off one of those F4U-4 perkie rides...
This guy goes into a dive and just walks away from my P51.

I get the impression that loosing parts in this game doesn't affects the aerodynamics at all.

It may affect the ability to pitch, yaw, and roll, but lift and speed performance doesn't seem to be affected.

I wonder if multiple .50 cal bulwet holes in the wing affect lift.

typh slows down when missing wing parts, as does FW190a5... at least when i fly em they do...

that could be a bug, i kept seeing some guy in an f4u with a missing wing tip, either it was a bug or he was a l33t hacker:rolleyes:

Check out this Me262 I had out one time... tore both wingtips off in a dive yet managed to pull it level.  It was completely controllable though it didn't turn as well.  Sea Level cruise speed was over 625mph without the wingtips.  Check out the pic.
