I don't exactly know which forum to post this in, but I think you guys would know the answer.  When using the Mindanao terrain in H2H, we can't capture fields.  When troops enter the map room in the city, nothing happens.  If the host destroys the map room using setup/destroy, the field is captured.  Protect is set to 0 and I've tried setting Lock both to 0 and 1 but to no avail.  What is the correct combination of Arena settings to allow field capture?  And are 10 troops enough or could this have been set to a higher number via the terrain editor?

Territory is gained by capturing a field.  A field consists of an airfield, vehicle field, or port and an adjacent town.  The town is situated 2-3 miles from the field or port and contains the strategic map room for the entire field.  All buildings in the town must be destroyed before attempting to capture the field.   Destroyed town buildings will stay down for 45 minutes, during which time 10 troops must be delivered to the map room via one of the troop carriers to capture the field.   After the tenth troop safely makes it into the map room, a system message will appear in the message buffer announcing the captured field number and the capturing country.

Thanks Pokie, I hadn't read the "regulation" requirements for a while and being used to non-regulation terrains in H2H without cities, I overlooked the fact that the requirements are different.  The buildings have to be down in the cities, not just the guns.

these are setting i have heard that people need to knw.. any one ever sit down and write any help files for these, this would help most setting up arenas. and why do you ditch all the time when you land on runway. some minor things i need help on...Yea i know major help...lol but need to understand them all every thing abou tthis tech stuff.

never mind i have found that answer pokie...(in case you were to reply. just rmembered where i saw that settings area.. thanks for your help on that info i got from you just now...lol see the file arena cfg settings, but need to know about how to set for not ditching on your own runway......i will get this yet.

looks to me that your messing with leathality settings ...... and that will make you very unpopular in the h2h rooms as a host very fast . see each one of those is for a different country ,and as soon as you play "Teams" the gang will notice .

Well here ya go there is my settings for Roscoroo's War, The plane ammo is up to you, as a host I keep it fairly low to stop spray and pray of the uber planes  . also setting up rooms with early planes / or allied vs axis  type plane sets make for a fun game to ... when its seasoned players that dont whine ...LOL
the New's havent realized that the early planes are easy and cool to fly yet ...and want to struggle with the uber ones all the time .  I hope this helps

P,s.  about getting the "you have ditched"  if your not on the runway , a taxi road ,and or in a hangar you will get this everytime you leave your plane ...same thing goes for GV's

note on the older maps that dont have towns .

on these maps all you have to do is take down the Ack... and release your goonies over the field or near the map room.

for the maps with towns next to the feild listen to Pokie, for he is correct in that the town has to be leveled compleatly befor releasing the goons  at the map room in the town.

the buildings stay down as for as long as the downtime multi   is set for    1.0  is ten mins i think    2.0 is around 120 mins i think .I keep forgetting to clock the time but I know the higher the number the longer things stay detroyed.

now each time someone drops supplys or a convoy /train arrives it takes time away from this .

Now Sarge1, if your "CAN COLLIDE" box is NOT checked for your Airfields, that are set as Runways, you will also get the "you have ditched" message.

You got to watch that "CAN COLLIDE" box when you are making your own Fields etc.
