What's worse.....someone using the WTC tragedy as a fund raiser, or someone pointing out the tastelessness of using such a picture.

I think the answer is obvious........unless you're a GOP lapdog. ;)

Except for the fact that it was 1 picture out of a bunch of pictures from his whole term up to date, and the picture is of his most important day in office so far.  It's just the first day of this controvercy, let's see how far ole terry macaulif is willing to take it.  They've been looking for anything to chop down bush and the reps.

I bet they spend more time on this in the senate than they do appointing federal judges (a year late I might add)  But hey what else do you expect from democrats?

Hmmmm.....

Seems to me that Bush's response to the 9/11 tragedy was one of the high points of his presidency so far.  I'm curious as to how it is tasteless to point that out.

I wonder if the DNC will cry as much when Mayor Gulliani uses the incident to catapult his political career.

:::chuckles:::  Yeah, and the Republicans sat back and let Clinton enjoy his 8 years in office without ever attempting to undermine his presidency.

Right or wrong, its tit for tat.  Both parties do this type of thing all the time.

There really is a difference between right and wrong, though.
If any democrat catches Bush in some criminal act like lying under oath or financial fraud, I would only be gratefull to him for cleaning the GOP from a scoundrel.

Making a picture of your most important day is not on the same level as alleged Clinton's transgressions.

BTW, those hero veterans sporting shiny medals (or colorfull ribbons)  - arn't they exploiting the war which was a terrible tragedy. By the logic of some, those guys should be tarred and feathered instead of paraded around!

Gephardt is an ass.  I hardly see how this would "risk[ed] jeopardizing bipartisanship on the war on terrorism".  It's a picture of the President doing his job.  These are the same idiots who complained that the President was leading the Sept. 11 effort from Air Force One and not from the ground.

As Udie said, tell them to get their bellybutton back in Congress and get us some new federal judges.

I just hate fundraisers in general, almost as much as party chairmen in general.

The problem with politicians is that every damn one of them is convinced we are one rule or one regulation or one law away from a model Utopian society and THEY are just the leader the rest of us need to march us there.

Sorry, but as an anarchist I view all political parties as the enemy. We need to give up on organized Government and revert back to tribal cultures. What has Government accomplished other than to tax us, draft us and imprison us? Get rid of ALL politicans.

Aren't these the same "idiots" who made a show of bipartisan support by singing "God Bless America" on the Capitol steps?

I can't believe we haven't blaimed this on Clinton after 12 posts! A political thread record IIRC.
