Just installed it... can't say much about the FM yet, but the He111 is beautiful - though I have absolutely NO CLUE how the bombsight works... ;)

UI has improved very much, spawn loading almost instantly. Stuka Sirens supposed to work - haven't got it myself though.

The Stuka, still "feels" the same... haven't tested for drag, weight effects yet.

Seems that offline FPS suffered a bit - but it's still pre-release... hope to see some improvement!

Gonna do more testing online later - the test-server just went down when I entered.

Infantry model is improved considerably. FM hasn't been touched. He111 is pretty, but as the readme states, parts of it (such as the bombsight) are incomplete. I've noticed a few bugs yet, such as machine gun fire coming from the cannon on the Panzer IV, smg fire coming from the soldier's forehead, etc. suggesting there is a while yet before it goes live. I didn't notice an improvement in fps, though the readme also mentions fps issues are still unresolved.

This evening I'll try our 109E and theirs .. would like to check if ours is able to perform infinite loopings and 80-90deg bank turns like theirs ;)

Ahh the 'planes aren't capable of infinite-loops' myth :).

To perform a perfect loop, you should end at the same altitude and with the same speed as you entered it in...and this can be done in a Tiger Moth.

Gosh! They brought the Tiger Moth to WW2OL with the skin and cockpit of the 109E-4! ;) :)

The actual interface looks much better and the games initial load time is faster.  At a minimum it's what it should have been like a over year ago in ythe closed beta, with a years worth of improvement upon that in the meantime.
Still have to SHIFT-ESC to exit after crashing or dying (offline). That's still lame.
Still have a massive FPS hit when firing Spit or Hurricane guns.
Not sure if the new keymapper actually has improved functionality over the old. Appears to be more user friendly.

Not gonna really give it much of a look as it is actually a closed "open" beta. Meaning open only to current testers and existing customers. Much akin to the way iEN did WB III.  Thier loss, not mine.  I'll  (and I imagine a lot of people) will let the "fan_BOIS" and l337 find the bugs and do the actual "work" ;)

To be honest, I've had more fun with DoD 2.1 than I did as a grunt in WW2O during last falls Gigex trial. While WWIIOnline grunts have appeared to have been improved graphically and in visual functionality they still look pretty horrible.

The things I do like about WWIIOnline are simply the terrain itself and the GV's can be  fun.

I believe a Tiger Moth actually was avoided a kill on either a 109 or 110 during the war;).
(Maneuver kill:))

Did the Tiger Moth perform those loops with a 1,000k bomb slung under the fuselage? ;)

A plane should be able to loop as long as it has energy.  A 109 obtains its energy from its engine, and it obtains its energy from gasoline.

Bomb weight was suppose to be added in though I haven't checked the stuka, only the Heinkel.  To get the stuka siren to work, your dive brakes must be on.  It'll turn off automatically once you disengage the dive brakes.  You won't be able to hear it as well in the cockpit, but if you go to outside view (V) or to ur rear gunner you'll hear it pretty good.

I like the new animations for the infantry.  With the change in all the towns infantry's roll has increased so hopefully there will be an increase in house to house fighting.

For anyone with fps issues be aware that there's also a debugger program running so it's eating up some performance.  But I really like the new GUI and smaller load times...big increase in that department.  Hope to get my trim lined out and do some level bombing on the test server tomorrow.  We'll see.

I think DoD is tad different kind of game too, isn't it fully infantry game and in a sandbox..? :)

They haven't touched the old plane models at the very least- pulled a loop in a Stuka at takeoff with full ordinance.

Have to test later if Hurricane I is having its Merlin III and not a Griffon under the hood ;)
