Jeez, Santa....the second thing to go in us old guys is the memory!

I'll have to look for it.

Those were the days, eh? Every time I see one of your posts now in the O-Club I think "he's getting even more conservative".

The Dark Side is so seductive.
If ye love wealth better than liberty, the tranquility of servitude than the animated contest of freedom, go from us in peace. We ask not your counsels or arms. Crouch down and lick the hands which feed you. May your chains sit lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that you were our countrymen!

Found it, using the search word "Douhet".
(Remember him? You were going to dig him up and shoot him.  )

I think this is the one you talking about?

There was a time when Santa was more liberal than he is?

Gonna check that out - he must have been some kind of post-communist marxist socialistic utopianical libertarian for that to be true.

<edit>

Aaah, the "Is Lieberman being Jewish an issue?" thread. Saw it about the time I first played AH, but wasn't terribly interested in baiting Americans back then, so I gave it a miss.

Looks like it was quite interesting.

To be honest Santa, I thought you were right-wing after you tried to hijack my thread on Post-Communist Communism.

Hehehe

LOL, I would define myself as "definitely offset", but not go further into detail   .

Got an odd sort of thing going mixing ideas. I call it StSantaism and it will be the only party allowed when I take over the world   .
ohh some fascism into it! Mix is getting better and better ;D

Toad LOL! There are some ideas I wholeheartedly agree with, but others I find very hard to cope with.

I shall resist! You are not my father, Darth Vader!

Welcome to the real world, Santa.

We call that attitude "Life" around my house.

There was a nice thread developing on the definition of "liberal" and "conservative" a while ago that got lost in the shuffle.

The idea was that it is hard to define them.

I disagree. It's quite easy to define "liberal" and "conservative".

It's just really difficult to hang such a label on a thinking person, for the very reason you just stated.

In short, we're all both liberal and conservative most likely. Just depends on which issue you are talking about at the time.

Nah, I'm "amphibian".

Now we better cut this out in the General Discussion before the Amish hit us with a couple of 1k's.

Toad, that discussion regarding the discussion of the definition of Liberal vs Conservative was pretty good.

But you never got back to me on it - you were travelling or something. I can't remember what the original thread was about, however.
