Nath: maybe postpone JG54-5 GvIAP duel
« on: March 14, 2001, 06:23:00 AM »
My computer froze up on me the day ver.1.06 came out, and I'm still waiting for it to be fixed (and upgraded: PIII700, 256Mb RAM, GEForce2 32Mb).  There are just 4 days left before the duel, and I haven't even touched 1.06.  Since my HD had to be reformated, it'll take another day once my computer returns to get up to speed.  I'll need to postpone our duel until I can get everything back in order.  Sorry, for the inconvenience.

WHAT?!?

You commies want to buy time.

Feeble minded as you socialist corruptors of the human spirit are, we, as superior beings, shall grant you a short respite and let you live for another week.

And then, you shall feel our wrath most keenly upon your bodies.

Which aircraft are going to be used?

1.06 added many options to the Germans and doubled the options for the Russians.

Hehe, in AH all that matters is amount of time you put into gaming. The one who plays most is more likely to be on the winning side.

If you still want me in, Leonid just let me know when you are ready.

I'm looking forward to my unique role as "object for LW to shoot holes in, while 5 GIAP get onto their sixes".

ooops, I think I just gave the main strategy away.

Of my experience with those russian planes, I like them..

after 3 months of no combat flying, I managed in H2H to struggle with Spit 5 and Yak9U in my Yak9U (most of the time NOE) until I was seconds away from fuel exhaustion and ran off & ditched bit later.
Well.. I can say that was one hell of a fight after 3 months break and that surely reminded me why I did like Yak-9U.
Probably best fights in november/december for me were in or against Yak-9U.

so.. I'd put my reich marks (or whatever marks) for the one playing for russians.

I have a suggestion for duelling sides:
How about you both sides do also duel with your 'foes' planes.
Jg54 flies russian planes and 5 GvIAP flies german planes for one duel.

I'd be really interested to see the results.

Let's see.... LW extends and starts really shallow climb to 25k and then starts the fight.

Simple enough

Hehe.  Nath, so are you asking if you can fly the D9?  Our original agreement was G-10 vs La7

And, StSanta, you bastage, the only reason we didn't duel earlier was because your CO wanted to wait for YOU to get back online, and up to speed

Mind if we do D9 vs La7?

Thought I said if D9 came out we would do La7 vs D9, guess not... mind if we change it to D9?

Nath,
Now that you mention it, the D-9 option may have come up.  Let me tentatively say let's go for a D-9 vs La7 frame, and if I don't hear anything from my squaddies we'll keep it that way, okay?

I'll email you about rescheduling, etc. as soon as my system is up.  Thanks.

Well, leonid, I know it is all a scheme by the communists to get a shot at the finest of german aristocracy.

Heh, it is going to be an interesting fight. Am not too happy about using the G6, which I feel is inferior to the LA-7 except at altitude, and LA-7 has some qualities the D9 lacks, but that should be a good fight.

We'll see how it plays out and I'll reveal more info as it comes to a conclusion about my experiences so far  . Not giving away secrets just yet.
