try pressing shift + F1 kieran.  it's default for all german planes.  Don't know why

I think I read that on the real planes they were offset like that to enable better vision? Think so.

XNachoX understood me correctly. It isn't the sight was pulled to the side, it was miscalibrated to the side. Basically I was having to fire down the nose instead of through the sight. Thanks for the help, you two. :D

Now you confused me. Everyone asks why the sight is off center and of course shift-F1 centers it. Changes views in other planes too for more options, but i thought per the FAQ they meant the German stuff actually had the sight movable. Why isn't my gunsight centered in the German planes?-
Hit Shift+F1. In the german planes you've got the option to push the gunsight out of the way (for landings, if you must). Once you hit Shift+F1 it'll stay centered and you won't have to worry about it any more.

Not sure what miscalibration your seeing.

The views at first seem perplexing, but in time you'll find them very powerful and the best in the market.

Sorry Creamo, about the only thing that bothers me about IL2 is the views!!  I dislike the 'snap' view, in reality when you turn your head your brain filters out all that stuff between where u are looking and where you wish to look, i find it disorienting on a comp screen.
i dislike not being able to adjust my view.  Mouse pan type views still swivel around 1 point creating unrealistic obstructions.  However I use a hat switch.  I find the 6 views mebbe a bit limited again because of not being able to move my head or shoulders which wouldn't be glued to the seatback.

If ya have any suggestions on how i might improve my view setup lemme know!  Perhaps I am missing something....  (can't stand padlock...)

The views are probably the only thing discouraging me from flyin IL2 more than an hour or 2 a week...

Plus, before the addon comes out in the fall we will get two version upgrades, the first expected soon.

Now we are at 1.04b2 and  we will get 1.1 and 1.2 prior to the addon, which Carl Norman posted on the main Ubi forum, will be 1.3.

There was/is supposed to be a 1.05 patch but I am not sure if that will happen of if we get 1.1 next.

Whatever happens, the support given IL2 is equalled only by that given AH by HTC.

I agree that the IL2 view system is tough, we are spoiled by the views offered in AH which I think are great.
