HTC, a minor consideration...

If Ju-88s and Ki-67s are to be included in the new 4-ship deal, how about allowing each of the planes to drop torpedos separately or with a delay?  Since 4 torpedos would, in all practicality, be no more effective than one, a delay between aircraft dropping torps may be in order.  (The ship is sunk when the first torp hits, so the other 3 are worthless.  In most cases either all will be on target, or off target.)

I.E: effectiveness not increase by extra torps as shown below:

Or, effectiveness IS increase by extra torps as shown below:

Killing ships with aircraft dropped torpedos is a tough job, very few people can do it well (I sure as heck can't!).  I respect the heck out of those folks who try because they seam to die dozens of times for every ship that they kill.

Thanks,

eskimo

P.S. a fan pattern effect would also be a good alternative!

Well, i'd think itd be more usefull if the lead bomber had a dot command to tell his flight what kind of formation to get in.

.abreast
.inline
.vee
.wedge
.diamond

with a second modifier of alt between the planes, from -1000 to +10000, with -50 to +50 being invalid numbers (so as to not overlap one buff with another).

so if you wanted to have a flight of buffs flying in a single line with your lead bomber being the lowest in the formation, you'd type

.inline 200

which would tell your buffs to go inline formation, 200ft above each other.

.inline -200 would make your buffs go inline formation, but be 200 ft below each other.

This would allow the player to set up his buffs for the best formation to fit his needs. If you on a torp run, an inline or abreast formation may be best (to hit with all torps in one spot or to spread the torps to increase the chance of a single hit).

Another good idea!
Same final result.
