Howdy,

I'm having a tricky time getting AHVoice working, and I was wondering if anyone could offer some suggestions.

Situation:
I've got a mic plugged in. I've verified that it works in other windows programs and can record sound.

I run AH, then try standard test of setting the T channel to send to me. I transmit, and I hear beeps from my speaker like the help says.

Next, I enter the MA and start playing. I see that there are a bunch of people in the range channel, which I have mapped to F12, so I transmit and ask for voice check. Nothing. I ask people on that channel if they hear me, then transmit again, but nobody hears me.

I've tried setting 'Use Wave In' and restarting the client, still no joy. Are there any other steps I should be trying to get this to work?

I was just browsing some messages in the voice beta area where people were asking about extra ports that AH voice uses. Since I use a personal firewall (Norton Internet Security), this could be the problem if I'm not mapping the extra ports.

So, does AH use other ports for voice transmission that firewalls need to map? If so, this would be valuable information for the online help.

A tip, to test voice online enter your own id into the last radio bar u can then transmit to yourself to test.

In windows double click on the speaker icon.
Make sure that the mic is muted.
Now click on options and properties. Put the dot in record.
Click ok.
Make sure that the mic is turned all the way up and the box labeled select has a check in it.
Click back on options and properties, put the dot back in playback.
Click ok and close the volume settings out.
Launch Aces High, Go in to key mapping.
Make sure that general has the dot in it and scroll down to Mic channel and Mic Range.
Click on Mic Channel and then click on the F12 key at the top.
Click set key.
Do the same for Mic Range and F11(or t) Click ok.
Now bring up the text buffer by hitting the / key.
Type .radio 5 yourgameid.
Hold down the f12 key and talk.
If you can hear yourself then you are working.
