Who else...

Couldn’t hit the broad side of barn last night.  I’m definitely not the eagle eye of AH, but damn, I usually do somewhat well.  Didn’t seem to matter if the target was static or not.  I know at least 3 times I dropped on a VH with 2k worth of bombs, 4 rockets, and about 200 rounds before it went down.

Hats off and a big <S> to Sandman9.  I dropped in on him while he was on the six of another Knight with an LA5.  It appeared soon after a second Knight dropped in with me, so basically three on one.  For some reason I can’t get the “Benny Hill” theme song out of my head.  Figure 8’s, loops, planed old turns – we all followed.  I ended up with the kill, but not until he had wasted the other two.

…I sure as hell laid waist to those drones off line though.  I had to get some sort of satisfaction.

Only had two hops last night (busy) but...

La-5 both times, had a couple good fights. I didn't die, didn't get a kill, but managed to make a 51 run for his ack over and over.   I couldn't seem to hit him, though it was my unfamilarity with Shvak ballistics that caused the prob IMHO.

My main prob was I was in an unfamiliar plane in a multi-con environment. I stayed alive, chose my place to egress when it got too hot (Me co-alt with another La-5 and a 51, Spit slightly below, and a P-47 coming from 2K alt advantage- and on top of that, flying over their ack! Still don't know how I got away with that one...) and lived to tell the tale.

Thanks Zippatuh... It's not me... it's the LA5! I just discovered it and my gawd I love that plane!

Kieren, flew the LA5 here ALOT back in JG2 days, had one of my best K/D ratio's in that A/C for one tour...I did notice that you must get within at LEAST 300 yards to be somewhat accurate with those 20mm's...I've tried alot of convergences, etc. but the only way I was successful was getting in close...I don't believe I've ever downed an A/C from over 500 yards with the LA5.
