Honest question about Il-2 Fuel Load
« on: May 20, 2002, 10:27:34 PM »
Okay, my question comes from complete ignorance, hopefully the answers will be better informed. ;)

Is the fuel loadout we have in AH correct?  It seems to me to be very limited for an attack/bomber aircraft.

Honest question about Il-2 Fuel Load

The Il-2 did not have great range, around 500 miles.  It was a close support aircraft, like an Apache helicopter of today.  It was designed mainly for hitting tactical targets at the front, not for long range incursions.  Of cource the Russians made so many versions, there probably were some with longer range than the one in AH.
