How about being a Palestinian reporter and a woman ?

If you don't understand it yet the propaganda-machine has been running for a while already. In both sides.

Very nice Staga.. point your little finger at me and tell me what I dont understand LOL.

These two stories are as different as night and day. One is a (imho) well thought out personal point of view of his countries politics and how his views have changed over a period of time. One looks like a rant written for the local BBS.

The first paragraph of each shows the direction the article is going.

"I AM A THIRD-GENERATION Jewish American, raised in Manchester, New Hampshire. When I was 14, I visited Israel for the first time as part of a six-week tour organized by my Jewish youth group. I immediately felt a visceral connection to the land and the people. Throughout high school, I continued visiting during summer vacations. And after graduating from American University, in 1989, I moved to Israel and became a citizen. "

"Why does the Israeli press not write about the soldiers stationed on my rooftop in Hebron, sexually harassing me and insulting me 24 hours a day? Why does the military commander of Hebron, Dror Weinberg, enjoy harassing me for political reasons?
I am a journalist carrying an Israeli press card,
and another two international cards from the United Kingdom and Belgium. I am also a Palestinian."

I think it was a very interesting article. Gives another perspective than the "oh, the humanity, the evil Israelis are at it again"-crap European media is feeding us.

My feeling on it is this.

1.  I'm German/American.  This whole mess is partially my fault for just being German, even though it all started in WW2 30 years before I was born.

2.  Israel does show restraint.  Alot more than I would.  If you attack me (and they just did a few months ago), I WILL attack you back.

3.  The Palestinians don't deserve to be pushed off their land.  Israel was created artificially, and they didn't own the land before that.

4.  Possesion is 90% of the law.  Israel owns that land now, and you have to force them off.  Fat chance of that.  It's been tried several times and its even been embarrasing to watch the Arabs fail every single war they ever start....baddly.

5.  The conflict is a toejam sandwich, and I'm not hungry.

How do you figure it is partially your fault? "For being German"?

Rubbish

If you want to go down that road, where do you draw the line? Should I feel partly responsible for the Viking attack on Lindsfarne in AD 793? Should all Americans feel responsible for slavery?

The idea is absurd.
