Next CT Setup: Winds of Change

Story: The Germans have successfully captured Moscow and are diverting most of their assests to the West.  The D-Day invasion was a failure and the Allies have been pushed back to the Sea.

Setup: BoB Map

All Allied non-CV based aircraft available at all Allied fields.
All German aircraft +C47 are available at all German fields
All GVs enabled for both sides

Perk: Me262 and Tempest at 2pts ea
(yes the German arado is unperked)

Ack lethality to 1.0

There will be winds the NE at 15 knots starting at fist altitude above 0ft for all altitudes.  This is my own personal twist to add wind, but try to minimize it benefitting one-side over the other.
This will be my 2nd setup for the CT and just want to make a fun historic matchup, given the above storyline and aircraft available.

Enjoy,
Jarbo

Sounds like fun Jarbo.  I wish we had some 'what-if' aircraft to add to the mix but that will come in time.

S! Jarbo

Just to let you know, this is very similar to a setup I did only about 4 weeks ago.

I perked the 262 at 3 points and left everything else free.

Put 109G10s on German CV's plus 190's.

You might find that the Tempest is a little overpriced compared to the 262.  The Jet is capable of dominating any other aircraft, whereas the Tempest can be in tough versus a well flown G10.

*drool*  free Spit XIV....

And do you mean ALL Allied aircraft?  Like F4U-1C, F4U-4, and La-7s???  Or just all Allied aircraft that were in use in Britain at some point in time?  Like a Spit Mk I if I was feeling suicidal?  ;)

Nifty, I should have been more clear.   Briitish and American planes that would likely be stationed in England for the setup I chose (i.e. no Navy or Russian Planes)

"Ack lethality to 1.0 "

is that good or bad? <- never learned arena settings

fleet ack in bob last time seemed way too accurate. one night I got popped 4x while flying >15k from fleet ack with the FIRST burst

Like to see fleet ack accuracy turned way down if not off. Make the ftrs protect the boats or lose them.

Ack Lethality of 1.0 means that the ack is normal/ MA lethality as I understand it.  I think the lethality of ack has to do with how much damage a strike does when it hits you, I don't think it modifies accuracy.
But, I could be wrong.

I was just letting folks know I didn't make the lethality something absurd.

Jarbo is correct regarding ack.  The ack/flak cannot be adjusted by type, as it's all controlled by a common setting.  During BoB (and most of my other set ups), I use 0.7.  This means ack/flak will hit you just as often, but is 30% less likely to do vital damage.

Havin a blast... but it sure is tuff defending england w/ 8 pilots!

Suggestion... cut the tempest perks to nothin, and enable the cv's fer the allies. The Heinies may have kicked us off the beaches, but i doubt they managed to kill the USN and RN.

Maybe then it'll be a lil less like the jetsons vs the flintsones. :)

Think the problem is with total numbers hangtime, I was just in, and although I like the setup alot, great map etc there is not enough online, just plain boring. I flew around in a TA152 at 10k for 20 minutes before finally finding ONE enemy.

Changed to Allied then all the sudden I didn't find any fights there either :(

how about MA2 or something

great room, great setup - just need the ppl

with a planeset that is now in there, it's just about MA with a dar change or two.

somebody needs to market it better

what about a lower limit on the number of planes in MA? Cut it off at 200 or something and force them into CT

What about if what happened in CT affected MA? Supplies, factories, transportation - something.

I think fewer ppl in MA would result in a better connection/time for them too. I still get freq discos and have a sawtooth in MA if I play anytime besides 6:30am EST.

setup is actually what turned me off.  Logged on the other day and see a couple of German bases in England.  No problem.  Fly over in a Jug D-30 and drop some ordnance and get one ping ripped by an Osti.  fun.

Take a B-26, deal with osti and vh.   ooo, Me262.  Evade, evade, get bored, die, maybe pinged him a couple of times before his 30mm ripped the B26 apart.

Looked at dar.  No other fights apparent, and this is with nearly 30 people online?  So my choices of fighting were engaging Ostis and jets in England, or fly over to France and try to find something there.  Sorry, but that is not this RAF fan's cup o' tea.

I sort of agree.  With the weekly changes going on in the CT, I'd like to see on occasion a non Axis-Allies setup.  Say, an MA setup where each side gets the same plane choices but limit the plane choices to a theme...like early war only, or late war only, or Pacific only...etc.  Opportunities for P40 vs P40 or Wildcat vs Wildcat will be very fun, but the MA as it stands now won't really allow that because all them LA7s and Spits will get you first.
