Even though you might not like to fly missions, even though you say we are "hiding" from each outher, even though you just want to "furball" all night, No one in Rookland can say that it wasn't fun.

Tell me you didn't get an adrenaline rush seeing 3 full bars of enemy going for your HQ. Tell me your heart wasn't pounding when you flew up into a group of 15 B-17Gs and 14 Lancaster IIIs, all escorted by dozens of P-47Ds and P-51Ds.

Not a "Historical" mission, but the fun factor was 10x a standard, "furball over the same field all night" event was it not?

This is just the begining. Bishlandia will be victorious. Next time, you Rooks and Knights will not receive open warnings in the public forum. We just wanted to stir the pot some......

EDIT: BTW. This is not directed at Westy individually. That quote was ust the 1st one I came across from those that said they don't like organized "missions"

Oh man was my heart pounding   Seeing a mass of b17s materialize, making passes at 500mph with a p51 on my 6 at 1.2k and closing, knowing the fate of all rook territory was on the line, gave a rush I havent felt in a very long time.

Great job bishops, keep em coming

Nothing to mourn Hangtime,
You shoulda heard the RW channel we were on light up with "OH MY GOD! Look at that Power Bar!"

The ASSASSINS and many others had sortied on a mission into your undefended backfield, when someone noticed your strike inbound, many of us augered in to grab interceptors.

I've got a couple screenshots of the map and at one point Bishes had 92 people online most of which were headed to Rook HQ.  Just look at these screens and tell me if ya can imagine our pucker factor at seeing ya's comin'

I had to climb up to meet your strike and somehow got seperated from my squad. Picking up a fellow rook we winged in on a low formation attacking a factory and I got lucky enough to be in the right spot at the right time to bag 2 Jugs, and a 'stang, was really alotta fun.

S!

Yesterday night was a real adrenalizer for me!Zigrat organized a scramble mission and we took off to counter the massive Bish attack. It felt like ages when climbing to altitude with heavy 109G-10's.
I got into a fight with an escort fighter at 23kft and the fight was victorious for me.I salute the opponent!
Missions like thos, either defencive or offensive, are the salt of this game.Endless furballing and chaotic field capture is nothing compared to this what we experienced last night.I wish to extend my thanx to Hangtime & the rest of ppl organizing this raid! You made tha day!

Ok. Goes to show that people can indeed read but they don't listen. I have never said I don't like missions. What I have always said is I like to do what I would like when I am on line and not be told  what I should be doing because it's my limited time to do with as I see fit. Many nights I log on to furball, quite often I also partake in missions or in attempts to defend/capture a field.

My posts the past few weeks have only been in defense of CHOICE which many of the AH "airmarshalls/airforce generals" would take away by trying to get a seperate furball arena or continued beratment/trash talk on the country channel aimed at those deemed not toeing the line.
I just hate when people tell me that I am playing wrong, let alone that I'm not playing where or in the manner they feel I should be.

When the missions first came out no one was more vocal than I about thier use. I praised Zigrat for blazing the trail.

I am fighting against repression. I am PRO choice.

All the knits could muster up last night was keeping the Rooks blind about 4 hours to help out Bish (something we were rewarded with by our southern  sector getting hammared by Bish) and then hitting Bish HQ as well...couldn't get many interested in OPS last night...just one of those nights!

And *how* did you manage to keep hitting our HQ rip?

Knits like to do it to the rooks from behind, that much is evident...

Organized mission?  Might have been a mission, but....when the escort abandoned their bombers, to go for the easy kills as we climbed up to meet them, they were playing "our" way.

I guess you can take the Bish out of the furball, but you can't take the furball out of the Bish.

Hehe Rip - this is the 2nd time you've mentioned that.

To put things into perspective, we couldn't expect, nor were we seeking, Knit charity in our attack on the Rooks. We attacked the south (Knits) first because it would have been rediculous to start our move north while an enemy country was camped out on 2 bases on the very island that had our city (one of them being our port).

We aren't looking to make pacts with other countries for these ops. If you got miffed that we didn't appreciate your hitting the Rook HQ, and decided to take revenge on us by taking back the our city/port island along with a raid on our HQ - that's fine. But it *still* would have been stupid of us to move north and expect that the Knits wouldn't be constantly porkin' our city.

You go it Westy. No one was forced to play in any manner. The ones that chose to help defend did and those that didn't didn't. As much as I loved the defense of Rookland last night I think the MA is a pro choice arena. Don't get me wrong. I will participate in missions most of the time. But a lot of times I don't want to be bothered with it. I think a mission like that shows what the potential of the MA is. I do want to see you guys do it next week. It was fun. I hope our side does it some time. Next time though get your fighter cover more organized. It was a cluster up there on your side. Lots of chiefs and very few Indians on the fighter end. You guys SHOULD have made it in. It was a valiant effort <S>.

Rgr, Nash, just ribbing...wouldn't expect a 'treaty' since they always go full circle, and it sucks when your at the wrong end of a treaty!
