It's allways on Ben, N1K2 and later verisons had it engaged at all times, as  long as the engine is running it doesn't take too much power from the Anti gravity drive so both can be engaged at the same time.

Muhahaha, niki for dummies?
Just dogfight and turnfight everything except spitV/I, Hurry's and Zekes. You can outrun those. If you get into trouble, just HO. Spray your 20mm, your ammo clip is big.
Yup, that's about it.
It was very interesting to carry out the flight trials at Rechlin with the Spitfire and the Hurricane. Both types are very simple to fly compared to our aircraft, and childishly easy to take-off and land. (Werner Mölders)

At the expense of ammo load, speed, and ruggedness. Pei is right... Spit 5 has many disadvantages, don't let it use it's only advantage.

Nik2 on the other hand seems to turn well, and has good speed/acceleration

Niki not only turns and accelerate well, but has guns that will kill at 800+ yards if u try to run. So, A niki (or its "pilot") just have to turn when in danger, then aim and shoot you when u extend.  A good plane for the hit-sprite addicted....
Kurt is winking at U!
