Well... i mmusta missed it.   if i see huge red bars with no green tho I just let it happen.  I don't even know where our HQ is nor do I care.

I speak for myself but I don't care for a mission that involves clubbing something.   If the mission happens to draw a crowd... with a lot of action, then i will jump in.  this is quite different from actually being in on it from the start or being "forced".

Anytime fairly equal groups of guys clash it is fun.. If it was caused by a mission... fine... but a mission that doesn't involve a furball is no fun at all.

It's the action stupid.

Westy-

That is exactly what my posts these last couple of weeks have been driving at. I thought about saying that, but decided people wouldn't appreciate it inserted in this thread.

I actually am glad there was a fun mission that so many people enjoyed. I couldn't participate in it as work kept me off until late (as it usually does), but that certainly doesn't mean I don't want that type of stuff to happen.

I wondered about the "you have been forced" comment and thought "nah, let it go...".

Westy, I'm not trying to start an argument with you. I said my comment was not directed at you individually, your post was just he first I saw saying how fun things were. I guess I just don't understand your point of view.

When I orignally posted the other thread entitled "POLL: Why don't YOU join missions" it seemed from your responses that it was all a time issue, a planner reputation issue, or mission type issue as to why you don't join. No offense, but you really didn't indicate that you are a supporter of planned missions.

Let what go? I know that no one was "Forced" to do anything, nor would I ever try to force anyone. Personally, I wished that NO ONE from Rook land would do anything and let us just roll right over everyone. I used it as a figure of speech to show basically, in the face of a huge organized strike, even the furballers realized they should get involved. For some, maybe it was a thought of, "If I don't help out, we could loose radar and a lot of bases," or for others it was simply, "I bet I can get a whole bunch of kills in that huge group of contacts." Either way, a lot of people were involved in that raid, one way or the other.

I am not trying to say anyone has to play a certain way. Play however you want, I don't care. I am just trying to point out that being involved in an organized mission (directly or indirectly) can be fun and put an extra dimension of immersion and excitement into the game.

Please don't make me out to be the bad guy in all of this. I am all for pro-choice and let people do what they want, etc. All I really wanted to do before was find out what needed to be done to help get people involved in missions.

The orginal intention of this post was inteneded as a rass

You're definately not a bad guy Midnight
The subject header could have used a less potent word than 'forced' but your point came through.

I did no tmean to make it sound like I was answering you back individually. My reply was intended for the general audience that has followed and participated in this debate for the past few weeks too. You included the "not aimed at anyone in particular" in your post, I absent mindedly did not.

well... look at the map.   Lots of planes in a small area with realtively even numbers.

That is the attraction.  Note that the screenshot isn't of everyone sitting in the tower or of one big red or green bar with a tiny little opposite.   It's the action stupid

Most (like myself) don't care how the action got there... They just go to the action.  When the action goes away or to somewhere else... so do they.  soon as that enemy fild has it's fighter hanger killed I look for another fight somewhere else. so.....

it ain't clubbing a field with vastly superior numbers

it ain't sitting in the tower

it aint climbing to 25k in formation

it aint escort or bombing

its the action stupid
