USA, in the stores and on the shelves. I was quite surprised to see it, actually. $24.99 at BestBuy.

It's a good movie. Not as much flying as I'd hoped, but the rest of the story holds interest too. The flying parts are excellent.

Boy, as good as the sounds in AH are, they just don't capture the power, the silkiness, the of the Spitfire engines.

I was just recently at the Chino airshow and I'd never heard a Spitfire before and I got to see three different marks fly and I was very surprised when they didn't sound that smooth.  To me, they sounded very raspy and like someone needed to turn up the bass...too tinny and trebbly.  A P-40 and P-51A flew behind the Spits and those planes sounded much silkier, smoother, deeper and better to me.  I wonder who else was there and their thoughts.

Bah! For sound, nothing beats a radial engine.  P-47s and F-4Us all the way. :D

The sound of a merlin in action is a joy.

The sound of 4 merlins on a lanc, flying by is even better. :)

Puke two of the Spits had Griffons.  This is a big burly engine and it is definitely not as smooth as the Merlin.  The Spit 9 has a Merlin that's almost identical to the one in the P-51D.  The P-40 and Mustang II (what you called a P-51A) and P-38 have an Allison engine which does sound a bit smoother, because it's a bit wimpier.  :)

BTW I have my Dark Blue World on order from Amazon.  It's a great flick and does a lot to explain the plight of the Czech and Polish airmen who sacrificed so much for something that took 50 years to finally achieve.
