HAs aces High ever considered the modling of oxygen equipment?  That is to say that over 14,000 or so pilots would find they need to have an adequate oxygen supply?

If the high altitude action develops as some have fortold, perhaps it is time for this level of simulation as well?

That'd be very cool.

Imagine having an "OXYGEN" listed in your damage list... you get that shot out and you'd better get to low alt or you'll start passing out as if you were pilot wounded. :)

Would also like to see the need to engage it.

Forget and anoxia sets in.

They had this feature in Fighter Ace III when I gave it a whirl a few months ago. I think it was above 18k you needed oxygen and you had to press a key to enable it or you heard a 'wheezing' sound and eventually would black out.

yeah, imagine, some1's climbing
they are at 900 ft
the phone rings
he and answers it
its his wife/girl friend
she keeps him on for about 15 mins
after finally getting off the phone and gets back to his 'puter
he sees the tower and there's a message in the text buffer

"Whoops!! Look at the idiot who forgot to turn the oxygen on!"

:D

hhhhhmmmm... Ju86 P2 got a preasurized cockpit, 1000kg bomb load, one MG 17 as defensive armament and service ceiling 42,000ft (or more). So only ? plane capable to intercept this high-altitude/rec bomber is Ta152... :p

edit: BTW, which planes got preasurized cockpit at AH ???

What do you mean? No planes in AH has got preasurized cockpits, no need. Or do you mean which ones had it for real?

wilbuz pressurized airplanes only need oxygen bottles (osygen mask) as a backup when they loose pressure.

and yes i think this would be a great feature if it models hypoxia times of useful conciousness with an accurate time table based on altitude.

and yes a manual button to turn it on would be a great feature

i like the breathing sound thing too!
like darth vader :)

Rgr, cit, which would give the TA152 a nice little edge ;)

Specially if a limited suply of oxygen is made, like 30 min max above 10k or so.

Wilbuz,

I don't know how German preasurized cockpits worked, but in the Spitfires that were preasurized (none of the ones we have in AH) the preasurization was not what we think of nowadays when we talk about presuriztion.  It was better than not, but essentially kept the cockpit preasure as though the aircraft were 10,000ft lower or so (I don't recall the actually number).
