How is your Russian?

show various trial results across several planes from mid 44 to mid45.

Note the landing speeds of 135 to 137 km/hr (fully loaded)

AH La7 stalls at this speed or slightly greater if you force it level


However also note the best deck level speed of 616 km/hr (fully loaded)

loads of other stuff there too.

I doubt if this included the wing bombs........but it was full fuel and nearly full ammo (note ammo load outs of 170 rpg for 2 gun and 130 rpg for 3 gun)

I have it noted elsewhere that the 3 x 130 rpg was used for a few rare triple Shvak* armed La-7's....... to reduce take off weight. (*as opposed to the lighter triple bereznins)

The 1st line(top) is the take off weight in Kgs note the official max take off weight was 3240 Kgs but this varied as did the amount of glue/resin used to bond the whole plane together:rolleyes:

Original Tsagi/VVs test pilots I have their names at home..........

re best performance after war was over........agreed .....however we must rem that all russian AC factories delivered stuff that had to be "commissioned" and tuned at the recieving airfield........ (latterly production pressures were reduced somewhat) these trial notes show some manufacturing faults that were adjusted between tests and  I was not joking about the weight of glue affecting performance between AC.

did anyone note the best turn times

This tests passed without bombs.

2x20 armament - SHVAK cannons
3x20 armament - B-20 cannons

Topic #5 - speed
 - sea level
 - first "altitute border" - 3000m
 - second "altitude border" - 6000m
 - 5000 m

Topic #6 - time of climb 5000m, sec
Topic #7 - max. vertical speed, m/sec
Topic #8 - highest altitude
Topic #11 - turn (sec)
Topic #12 - increase of alt after "combat turn" - m

So, for the test of 23/9/44
La7 MAX SL speed: 582 kmh (361 statute mph / 314 nautic mph)
La7 MAX speed 9k: 647 kmh (402 statute mph /349 nautic mph)
La7 MAX speed 18k: 674 kmh (418 statute mph /364 nautic mph)
La7 MAX Climb Rate: 3240 fpm
La7 average climb rate up to 15k: 2941 fpm
