Yes, those screenshot colors are way more intense than what I get on my Diamond Viper V770 TNT 32meg card.  Waht card do you have?

Those images almost have a 3D quality to them.

It is because they are digital photographs of his screen with a digital camera, probably then messed with in photoshop.

A guy was doing this with Il-2 and getting remarkable results

kratzer is right, so much more action is caught when i take pictures of my monitor vs screen shots. Nothing was touched up other than me cropping the image. The downside is, about 90% of the images aren't all that great, but every once in a while you get a really good one like this:
