beetle i used to have that stick and have since updated

Now i have the thrustmaster,topgun,afterburner2.............it has made me improve in the game dramatically.......it doen't have as many programable buttons as your at presnt, because there is no SHIFT butto to double the numbers of buttons.

I use may of my button on the key board that i won't need in emergency use E.G. gears and zoom in and outand brakes.

I'm just trying to sell this joypad to you because it has such a nice feel to it and has two different rudder selections.

Hope you think about it becasue i'm sure you'll benefit...........it's cheap also.

dunno about the g2 but the f with 25% fuel dt and gonds can out turn all but the aces. lose the gonds and you can even give them fits :)

What I do...( I'm no Ace either, but it works)....is I have the elevator trim up and down mapped to a hat switch...push it forward, and it trims nose down for high speed escapes, pull it back and it trims nose up....just the ticket for beating the compression-in-a-dive thing.

Dunno if you have any hat switches spare, but  it makes trim a matter of moving your thumb a fraction of an inch, instead of fumbling for the K and I keys.

PS, I find that where the 109 really excells is in a vertical rolling scissors, it cant outrun mopst things, cant out turn 'em in a flat circle fight, but it can spiral climb like no other plane can.
if they follow, they stall earlier than you do....if they're smart enough not to follow, you have forced them to break.
Works for me anyway.

Just remamp the thumb buttons to trim up and trim down elev like I have and your prob is solved.

You don't need a quick access to trim angle or trim speed buttons in combat, but elev trim you do need.

Nice screenshots!

Looks like it took the combined firepower of two 109s to take the Spitfire down, tho...

Still, the G2 is my favorite ride when the odds are against me in a base defense situation! :)

wow havent being back here in almost a year. back from retirement:D

someone probably already told u this. but turn off the engine when u dive, alot easier if u have a HOTAS. get a x36 would be my advice.

i was in h2h one day, it was unlimited fuel. my sortie lasted for 3 hours, i had about 8 kills and only some minor damage, spitfire, niks u name it the g2 killed it:D

best fun i had in ages. i had beethoven on. it was great.

for most of the it i just kept high and did my 'spiral' bnz. i didnt go straight down since that would put the plane in compression, also need to conserve ur boost and cut the engine.

however there were a few.....god havent played for so long.....the russian ones, they though they could turn with me.

the most important thing in the g2 is to keep ur speed up, pull low g turns and do those what do u call them.........u kinda make a big arc while ur oponent makes small one and u dive back down.....

anyway, the g2 is a fun thing to fly
