LMAO!:D

Good old Queenie...here's hoping she sticks around another fifty...or at least long enough to prevent Charles from sitting on the "throne".  Just can't see him as King.

Was just wondering, what does the Queen and her Royal family actually do for England besides live the high life on the backs of her citizens?

Isn't she/they just a figure head or do they have real political clout? Just wondering, no offense intended...

The Queen + the rest of the royal family are the Uk's Ambassadors to the rest of the world, they bring in quite a bit of money in our way.  There's the tourism thing too- people come to the Uk to see the monarchy.

I would much rather have the Queen than President Blair anyday!  She's a lot more respectable than any politician in the Uk and the Royal family isn't a bad Role model-  I thought Prince Charles did well on the Dope scandal concerning Prince Harry.

I did start writing about how the monarchy came to be as weak as it is today, but then i realised how long and complicated it was and it would take forever to write.

Unbraced tailplane ends it's figure.
One-O-nine F is it's name-
F is for futile, not for fame."

LOL, thanks!  :)  Well, I managed to miss the party, but it seems while we were just over 100 miles away visiting family, there was none-stop torrential rain/thunder-storms - in fact we passed through one coming home.  Not seen it rain so hard for years, so bad that even on double-speed the windscreen wipers weren't clearing it fast enough and we could barely see where we were going.... the roads were flooding rapidly.

A shame really, our neighbours had raised a lot of money over the last few months to have this party, and gone to a lot of trouble to get the road closed, with all the proper signs and diversions set up, as well as insurance cover.  Saturday had been a glorious day while they had been setting up too.  The one thing nobody could prevent was that awful weather....  :(
