One thing I really miss from my former life is the kill buffer.

Spent the weekend in Spit's lookin for fights, had some GREAT ones. But on more than one occasion, a fellow countrymen jumped in and "saved" me...

He killed my opponent and I never found out who it was..........

GREAT FIGHTS

But no opportunity to call him up for a salute'.

I know we're trying to be *cough* "PC" here.... Don't wanna hear muffled gunshots after someone gets killed 23 times in the space of 3 minutes and then gets his "Name up in Lights..."

But...

The kill buffer is rather sterile...

Just a thought......

I would like to see both the killer and victim's name in the buffer as well.

You can always do what I do when I want to know who a particular enemy was, ask.

Not always an option when your up to your elbows Iron.

Many times, once out and clear, sometimes a while later, I can call him up, tell him great fight.

Besides that, when I finally get one of the several over here that would be a nice addition to my butt wall...

Two ideas:

1. ask your teammate who he killed.

2. chase the carcass down firing with mg's to get "a few pings in".

Number two seems to be the most popular from what I've seen, but they forget not to use the cannons.

I found it refreshing to not see a kill buffer and just have the individual see who killed him. Not that that makes any difference.AS long as You know who you killed that's all it should matter. unless your trying to make youself look good by shooting down someone that's precieved to be an ace in the game. Then have it broadcasted to everyone in the game to see look what i just did.

Nope, dont agree, dont think we need to show to the world who killed who. You know who you killed, let that be enough.

Too many guys take it to personal, and way to many, after they get killed, have to then make lame excuses on the open channel when they get killed. Take pride in the victory when you earn it, but I don' t think we need to gloat or try to embarrass anyone.

if you're eager to find out the name of your adversary and he's already bailed, line up on his chute and pop it.

What would be ideal, would be if each player could select his name to be shown in the text buffer as the victim, or not. The text buffer would show a mix of kill messages with and without victims names listed. Suppose that three players are online, and only player "mouse" has selected to allow his name to be shown as a victim. The text buffer may look like this (during a vulch):

Victory 1 by cat (cat shot down mouse)
Victory 2 by cat (cat shot down mouse)
Victory 1 by dog (dog shot down mouse)
Victory 3 by cat (cat shot down mouse)
Victory 2 by dog (dog shot down mouse)
Victory 4 by cat (cat shot down mouse)
Victory 1 by mouse
Victory 5 by cat (cat shot down mouse)
Victory 1 by mouse
dog: nice job mouse
cat: mouse
mouse (vulch-dweebs)
