Quick Cougar question

The one question I have at the moment, as I prepare to convert my old TM programming files into a new one, is this:

Do all the hats on the stick really function as 8-ways?  The one downside to my old TM stuff (F-16 FLCS) was that the hat middle of the way down the stick was only a four way.  I want to put my views here, but need true 8-way functionality to do so.

The data I've seen seems to support their working as 8-way, but I'd like to get some confirmation from someone who's already using theirs.

I have the old FLCS and recently got the cougar.  

The Hat 1 is much better for 8 way than the old FLCS Hat1.   I never used 8 way on hat1 on the old FLCS but am using it successfully on the cougar.  

Haven't tried 8way on hats 2 or 3 but they are supposed to be able to do it.  Throw is not as long on these hats so you might  find it trickier to find the corner positions but the cougar has new programming like FORCED_CORNERS and hat sensitivity that can help you tune your hats to your liking.
