Some additions to mission planner
« on: June 04, 2002, 06:14:14 PM »
1) Add the button "Start Mission Now".

Sometime when making misison you have all slots filled before time of mission start. So usually in this case you go to planner, change mission start time, and spend another minute+ waiting for its start. Adding button to start mission will help us mission makers :)

2) Make "Squad Private" check box in planner.

Sometime we make missions on planner for the squad, the private ones, to work on fighter tactics etc. Actually, if even you write that it is private, it will be someone, who will join it, and sometime people just do not leave even if asked many times. So can you add some check box "For squad pilots only", so only pilots from the same squad can join?

As much as I despise Fariz, he has come up with a couple outstanding suggestions here.

Can the Mission Editor do something magical for me....like, if I opt to have a pre-planned mission up from a different airfield, in *intelligently* choose a runway (any!) asides the hangars by default?  :)

And please, deduct many perks for morons who make missions with perk planes, and have them up from hangars...ugh! hehe

I like both ideas, but the second one would not work for a squad like the MAW ... we are actually 3 separate squads, due to the limitations set on the numbers of players per squad.

I suppose we could post 3 identical missions, one for each squad, but the coordination of that would probably pose last minute problems.

Does anybody know why there is a limit on the number of players per squad ?

Ok now dont flame me for bringing up the name, I would like to be able to zoom and scroll the map in the mission planner like it was in air warrior. Reason to set more accurate way points as it is now if you are attacking bases up north the way the map is set like a chess set the bases up on top are too close together. When trying to set waypoints with IP points its hard to get an accurate track to the base. This will be even more important with the new buff system. Maps in real life lay flat. Tracks to target can be planned very accuratly. Pilots still have to fly the route to be accurate so its not like its making it too easy. Allso timed route can be set so escorts can form on buffs at the proper time and place.  Routes around radar can be set for noe raids. If changing the mission editor map is too hard how about using the clipboard
in the mission planner to set waypoints instead of the chess set.

Just my opinion I could be wrong.

Also it would be nice to be able to set up missions off line. Reason to set up mission for TOD and other sea events. As it is now you have to wait untill map is up in sea to make mission and save it. You cant save mission made in planner offline
I would also like to be able to transfer command of a posted mission to another player. So we could plan and post multiple missions to coordinate attacks on multiple targets.  Some times 8 flights are just not enough for a mutiple target strike.

and plug a text radio message into your way points?

the best way to currently scroll the map is to F3 and F8 and change the view then zoom in/out  (ever so gently)
