Ireland deserved a win IMO...they played very well with lots of spirit.

good result! Makes that group pretty interesting. Cameroon will more than likely beat the Saudis, which will leave them tied with Germany on 4 points (and prolly behind on goal differential) heading into their head to head. Ireland will pretty much win their game against Saudi giving them 5. A tie with Cameroon would put Germany through on goal differential in all likely hood (unless Ireland or Cameroon put up a 9 spot!) and a defeat would send Germany home early! Gonna be a good final day for that group play!

umm, I was only glancing up and down, but dang, that sure looked like a foul on Jancker right before he was subbed out. Looked like he was clear too, possibly a card shoulda come out of that! Tho maybe the Irish defender got all ball... *shrugs*

But talk about leaving it late. I really thought we'd lost it. All credit to the Germans, they played with their usual discipline and finesse, but they made the mistake of thinking they could stop the Irish scoring. Only for a brilliant stop by Kahn, we could have even won it. That same mistake cost Holland their world cup place. I hope they learn a lesson from that and go on to beat Cameroon. Then if we beat the Saudis both Ireland and Germany go through.
