Are the cheats here?
« on: June 05, 2002, 02:02:51 PM »
Was tangling up w some low furballers last nite, came out of
the action w 2 kills and a nme Yak 400 yds back creepin closer
to try to kill me.  I swished and swashed my 109g-10 to avioid
his fire and had good success doing this.  he wasnt very patient.
good luck, 2 fellow countymen are inching closer to the
Yak, looks like I'm gonna get a clear.  Just as they get in
range for me to do a set-up drag for my chums, he vanishes.
My 2 buds peeled off and heded back to the fight.
O well, he disco'd.  I'll take that too.  Let me see, lotsa cannon,
lotsa gas, i'll go back and bag another 1 or 2 skulls, and hed for
home.   As I was grabbing a little alt for the fight,
wham boom riiiippp,   next thing I weas spiraling down, no wings.
What the sheet was that?!?!?  Looking back, that fricken Yak!!
 How,,what,,where,
Ive heard of the invisible plane cheat, but havent seen it yet.
And in fact, I been at AH for about a year now, and have only seen 1 cheat  (guy game id as asyyll) or something.  Figured
a 2 weeker and goodbye.  But this looked like a well organized
and skilled user.  In fact, I didnt even get a '(gameID) shot u down.'  Just a 'You have been killed'  message.
Hopefully, this was a net problem on my end,  or a net, prob
on the Yaks end, but usually net problems dont lead to the
precise timing that lead to my demise, and the fact that my
country buds saw im disco also points in the other direction.
Just a message..I came from AW where the cheats were
rampant, this ruined the game.  If u see a cheat, even if it
is your country man, film him and report him, or I guarantee,
AH will fall by the wayside as AW did.

If the guy had a blurp in his connect, he could of very well disappeared on yours and your countrymans FE's, while on his own FE he thinks he is still in the arena. Likely he thought that you were the one warping. Eventually  he settles in for a nice clean 6 shot on you while you are unaware he is still there. I am not saying this is exactly what happened, however I would bet the odds that this or something internet related happened rather than an intentional cheat.

In the last few weeks I heard several complaints about vanishing planes, but these "ghosts" did not become invisible on purpose.
They are in bigger distance most time and blank out for a minute or more.
Its the the first time, that a ghost plane get a kill that way.

Just like ammo I would say it was a net lag.
In the last few weeks I see very seldom microwarps or big warps.
Its a wild guess, but I think HTC altered the way how lags and packet losses are handled.

It's new,  it's inexpensive and it's indefeatable! IT is the **MOL** squad super secret, special warp-on-demand, instant invisibility, unlimited ammo and constant aircraft repair hacking-ring!

Since this device doesn't actually interact with your operating system, use any cycles on your cpu nor travel over your actual ISP connection it is undetectable AND__ there is NO defense against it.

Just a simple wave of your hand or place the ring up to a specific corner of your monitor will activate the appropriate "cheats"  (LLB has nice nails no?)

Mail me $19.95 and I'll send you the info on where you can buy one for free.

its different then the old "ghost" plane thing from a while back.

My squaddie lost 2 262s to the samething. I lost an a5 yesterday. I upped to head to v58 and had a report of a c47 ib. I hit wep and leveled at 3k. I saw a red dot pop up on dar about 5 miles west of the vbase. I figured it to be the jabo that leveled v58. The dot keep flashing 1 min there the next gone. I figured he was going under and above the 500ft limit. He was between to as of our fields so anything above 500 he would be under full dot and bar dar coverage.

As i approached looking to for a lo dot I spot a high 1 above. He was hi and I had was outa icon range. I was at 3k and he was atleast d6k above me. 18000 + 3000 = 21000. So i assume hes 21k at least and hi tail it to v58 to catch that goon.

I check the dot and as I get outa of dot range I loose all visual. But he shows solid on dar now.

While in level flight at 3k I just hear 1 loud ping and I am in the tower. No kill message was awarded. I checked net stat and ping and there were no anomalies evident on my end.

I saw no con any where. I didnt film it but my squaddie heinkel posted a film of one of his 262 being killed. It happened the same way.

It was more like I colided with something then it was like getting shot by another plane.

cheats...

erad about this today...available for all of the current on-line premium flight sims, as well as all of the ground pounder type first person shooters etc. Many are very sophisticated and even "hot key" driven to be able to turn ON and OFF on demand. They range from stand alone "game clock" speed up programs (climb to 30,000 feet in 10 seconds) to "packet squeezers" and patches that alter or substitute ammunition types and their effects. I've also had a few that let the use modify planes to create various levels of invulnerability. Some of these hacks have been in use since the middle 1990's with the original WB (CK), all the way though to the current products from the old Janes, Microprose, Microsoft, FA3 Beta, HTC, iEN, UbiSoft, Maddox and Playnet. We have been using this collection of code and research to build into the Targetware engine various techniques to void the effectiveness and on-line use of these type of mods, but new ones (or variants) seem to turn up daily. Various on-line companies do tend to run propaganda "no comment" campaigns indicating they have special hack detects in-place to catch these cheats, however, in all honesty I think many of them rely more on players catching other players with screen snaps, then any serious technology from in-line code to do this

Geeez this is like DoD, and all the other juvenile online games (that I seem to play often) the you cheat syndrome. Or more like the Thats impossible, somone is CHEATING!!

I must be living in denial, but I do believe any obvious Dood, I'm a mad haXoR anomalies would be picked up fairly quickly by HT and co.

Its the lag baby....

Agreed ..............I had a dissapearing tiffi the other day that just seemed to vanish whenever I approached his 6...... after two or three times I hit alt r and recorded it.............he dissappeared  another couple of times and appeared on my 6 with the advantage........

upon playing the film he was there all the time (usually rolled out of my vision)......... my FE definately was tracking his position........... my poor SA was not....

if it was "dissappearing" during play the problem was my end not his and therefore not cheating............

seems sense to have a film to check before accusing someone of something you would not like to be accused of yourself..........

Witnessed this first hand last night.

We took a base deep in Rookland (on the east coast) and in the mist of defending it, the base was taken back. NO C47's seen in the area by anybody. We had a lotta guys up, all over the place, even CAPing the town, and vehicle spawn to the base was not an option (we owned the VH north of the base), so no M3s slipped in. How could this happen !?!?!

Next progressive base would be the VH to the north, so I sat in the VH tower (VH was down) and watched the map room. Just as I suspected, 10 little  drunks appeared out of thin air (Stealth C47 had landed) and walked into the map room.

I had turned on the Recorder, but it didn't come out. I guess you can't record in the tower ?

Anyway ... it is for real !!!

Sending some catfur your way Steely07 ;)

Just read that link. Yup. Certainly sounds like a verified siftware problem. And at least some people were good enough to layout in detail what the issue is. Hopefully HiTech is on it and a fix for Linksys users  wil be an item on the READ ME. I'll bet for each that post in thatr articel that there are several who have taken advantage of the problem for thier own ultimate dweeby version of 'fun.' But it's not a hack or cheat.  It's a bug that some people are exploiting.

I have seen this too, but only once so far.  I was in a 262 diving on a spit who had been dodging me for a few minutes.   I had a great setup on him finally and was pretty sure he didnt see me.  Rigth as I was about to open up on him (about where he would hear jet engine too maybe)  he goes poof!  Cloak enabled.
