pto before i pull out my hair?

What the heck is going on guys?  I cant even remember the last time we had a map with a real ocean on it.  I am pretty sure there wont be a 1.10 till the convention, is that going to stop you from putting up a pto till august?  Cmon already, sick of the euro trash.  What would 1 week of that gorgeous map with open ocean and carriers do to the weenies that cant fly blue?  I think it was a weasel map? does that sound right?

I'll commit to a Pac set up my next go around, ok?  That's assuming the terrain I'm hoping is ready is ready, but we'll make due with another if we have to.  I feel your pain;).

Thanks sabre, you just made the vf27 very happy.  Sometime after 1.10 is out and you get a nice selection of maps, maybe you guys could start a cycle?  you know like channel/bob, mainland west, eastern front, pto, china, africa something like that.  Maps, setups, 'era' could change all the time, but the theatre would be expected.

I need to put my Navy Blues back on, I've worn out my Luftwaffe, and USAAF uniform, now my RAF uniform is even looking tckey. Time for CV ops, it's been over a month since a PTO set-up.

I see we are getting russia AGAIN next week.  YAWN.  Is there some huge russia contingent I am not aware of? Is this just a conspiracy for the lw pilots giving them new targets each week?  Here is a 'pulled it out of my arse' setup idea... USN vs Russia.  Why not?  Seems about as likely as any other.  How bout USN vs England? Or USN vs Germany.  I dont remember hearing the cheers last time a russia map came up (besides the one with the cool white terrain), why have 3 of these lavochkin maps gone by before we ever see the ocean?  It so fricking strecthed we are flying spits and hurries now.  I think i am going solely fly the spit v just to ruin the lw fun.  You will have a russian setup with england flying.  IF you cant tell, I am pretty sick of lw vs. the world but no usn to be seen.

All you russia lovers better make yourself known so I dont have to believe this map is for wotans enjoyment alone.   It looks like a cool map, too bad the aircraft are so tired.

Theres hasnt been an eastern front setup since I joined the ct staff. 6-8weeks ago. It was stalingrad. Theres has been a pac set up since then. Tunisia Sicily and the BoB are getting a lot of usage because 1 the are new and 2 we have a decent planeset that allows for more parity between planes and a greater variety in the set ups.

The last set up with vvs planes was a set up by brady that simulated 1945 vvs vrs japan. Brady had planned to use a new map but it wasnt ready.

Theres a few pac maps that are almost ready. When they are you will see a much better pto set up then say using the island map or mindinao.

Weazels phillipine map is 512 x 512 and the fields are so far apart that it takes away from type of gameplay most enjoy in the ct.

While the kursk map is some what spread out in the area where most of the combat will be it fits right in with ct gameplay. This setup has never been run.

The fact that eto/med setups get a lot of usage is because the current planeset allows for it. When 1.10 is released this will swing the opposite way and pac will probrably over take eto/med. Especially with the new terrains.

Fly the ones you want and skip the ones you dont like.

I know wotan, but I refuse to fly MA, so that only leaves me with a couple of options.  I dont mean to sound 'really' pissed off.
I do think you give weazels map too hard of a rap. I loved hunting for enemy cruiser groups out on the wide ocean.  I also cant believe its been 6-8 weeks since the last russia setup. i know you are ct but can anybody else back me on this?  I remember at least 2 or three russia setups since the infamous white map. I count anything with russian birds as eastern front btw, whether the map is supposed to be iowa or mars. Maybe I am going crazy with blue withdrawl.  Unless there was  pto while I was in canada (i think that was two weeks ago) it has been a very long time.

As far as a plane set that is well developed, no ju87 or he111 means nothing in europe is well developed or for that matter the eastern front either.

I still think you guys do a great job though. Just whining for my pto setup............

just fyi

I went back and checked on the ct cm board and the last time a east front was run was March 29. That was brady's set up. After that was Sabre and he ran a pto using the island map. Also jarbo ran a pto set up after that using the the mindinao map.

Other then that 2 weeks ago brady ran his Kuriel Island set up which was 1945 vvs vrs ijn/a. The terrain wasnt ready so he used the perdonia map.

When I first joined the ct I was going to run the kursk set up but we had just had a Stalingrad set up a couple of weeks before.

Also the stalingrad map is that "white map" :)

We have had 3 weeks of eto and 1 week of the kuriel island set up. It may be time for a pto set up but it aint happening this week :)

Sorry guys

I know you guys support the ct more so then most other squads.

We all appreciate that and I would expect a pto setup soon.

Also does VF-27 have any interest in TOD. We loved to get some of you guys involved. Especially how you guys work real well together.

Theres a friday tod as well as a sunday tod. Check it out it. Personally I think its the best thing going in ah right now.

Friday tod pulls about 200 folks.

S! VF-27

Dont give up on the ct yet.

:)

If you guys have an idea about a setup feel free to email me and Ill see what I can do. Its a bit late in the week for me to scrap kursk.

Wotan.

No need to be sorry, we are not going to leave CT bud. We are a CT squad period. Of course we may get surley if it's been weeks since a PTO setup, but it's good natured. When 1.10 is out and the F4F is on board, he will also be available for Operation Torch scenarios, and prob fit into a few more ETO set-ups as well.
Heck if we could get 1 PTO set-up out of every 4 you would prob not hear any of us so much as fart. The USSR, vs Japan set-up, prob seemed like Eastern front to us and PTO to you. ;)
There always seems to be more interest in a ETO set-up, than a PTO. We understand that, and I have no problem with it.
Sometimes though it seems like if we dont squeek, our wheel won't get greased.:D
Yes TODs are in the future of this squad, we just havent stuck our noses there yet. Good luck with this weeks set-up, it looks interesting.

I have to believe interest in a PTO setup would pick up with a better Japanese planeset.   I can just imagine the Ki.84, Ki.100, A6M3, Ki.43, Ki.44, Ki.45, Ki.46, Ki.102, J2M3, H8K, G4M, B6N, and D4Y would really pique the interest of those willing to fly for the Emperor.   HTC has still barely scratched the surface of the IJ planeset.

The Midway planeset may turn out to be more suited to a one day scenario than a weeklong CT setting.  Give me a week in the Solomons in late 1942, New Guinea in 1943, or the Phillippines in 1944, or the Home Islands in 1945 - I think I would find that more interesting than a week long carrier battle with the low numbers the CT typically has.    You never know though.

. Well, it looks like there is a good future in store for the pac setups, good to hear! Lol, it's been so long since I dusted off my kitty I'll probably be a bit rusty now, but I sure do miss it. I was getting pretty tired of chasing 262's and 152's all over the dang map, lol! I honestly don't mind having a rotation, if it weren't for that, I would still think the hurri is nothing more than a flying coffin instead of actually learning it and finding out I like it. Once things get squared away so that we can have an actual rotation, it will be nice, I look forward to it. I know you guys are working hard, and I certainly appreciate what you are doing. I just might take you up on your offer to submit ideas for the CT... it will obviously take some time for me to work something up, but it sounds interesting to me. Flying in a setup that I had a small hand in creating sounds like fun! One thing that is on my mind now is to recreate the fleet battles... no land other than ports for respawn of fleets, just open water and ships and planes. I doubt it would go over very well, but it's something that's never been tried to my knowledge. Might not draw very many, and I know that's a consideration, but who knows... the difference of it might just draw a big crowd. Oh well, just a thought, I might try it out in H2H and see what happens. Take it easy guys, and please bring up a pac setup soon! hehe
