Perk Point Auction

OK, here's my idea for a truly excellent use for perk points. Hear me out now. ;)

I'd like to see HTC set up an E-Bay type auction for perk points.

A player can offer XXXX perk points for sale and the other players can bid on them. Successful bidders have their credit card charged by HTC for the amount bid and the perks are transferred from the seller's account to the buyer's account to use as he sees fit.

Now, the money.. always the money.

The money goes to a charity. I don't care which one. The seller can designate a charity or we could all vote on which one to give to at the outset. Give to Cancer Research, the World War II Memorial, whatever. I guess the seller would end up with some form he could use for tax purposes.

or.. we could donate the money towards buying and restoring a nice Warbird held by an independent non-profit corporation. :D :D :D

Sellers and buyers would be elegible for rides on a lottery basis.

We could work out the details later. :)

I've got perks to sell.. might make me actually work to get some more too, instead of just ignoring them. Gee, it might achieve the goal of giving people something to try to live longer for. It might even make the lesser seen planes that "give good perk" more popular.

Just an idea.

I like it.
I'd also be happy just to be able to give them to my squad mates.

Alittle off topic, how about lowering the perk price of these perk planes and then resetting the perk points at the end of each tour?  That way, its like an RPS, everyone will be using them up the last few days (or not using them at all)

Laz and Rip...... why not do something concretely positive with all those dust-collecting perks? Why not have something to show for it?

Toad - GREAT IDEA!!!!! I especially like the charity tie in. Unfortunetly there would need to be folks to administer the whole thing and I doubt HTC want's to foot the bill for that. I do like the idea though.

Ok, I vote for Toad's Idea.

Now the question is who would buy perkies?  I don't have many and don't use them as it is.

If you would be a purchaser of perkies please explain why you would buy them?

Not to finish robbing this thread, but I wish they would mod the perk distribution just a bit.

Why not have something to show for it?
Speaking of which, I wait for new planes and pay for my account just like everyone else. How about letting me fly a 262 once a month? That’s all. Come home from work with no master perk building plan. Just load it up and fly it. Or a couple of TA152’s. Lose em, back to square one, day one.

Basically at the start of each tour you have a minimum perk point bank, say 300 no max. Build 3000 points a tour, fine keep em. But if you have 19 like me, you get reset to a predetermined number, at least as much as the most expensive fighter, which at this point is the 262.

{Pop up screen on log in}

“Dear valued customer,

Tour xx begins today. Your AH plane perk bank has been reset for the new Tour effective immediately. Your balance is increased to the minimum balance 300 fighter points.”

Unless of course perks are a reward system, in which HTC could leave it be and tweak just plane costs. I don’t think that’s the intended purpose however.

Oh, and I'm not opposed to the charity thing, I just would like the buyers names posted so someone can call the 1-800-SAVE-A-TARD hot line for obvious stupidity disorder.

LOL!

I hadn't thought of that. I just ASSumed that there'd be enough perk plane starved guys that would pay to play with their dream machine.

I sort of figured there'd be plenty of sellers too.

OMG! What if this game is FULL of buyers and few sellers?

AHHHHHHHHHH!! I'm a SUPERGEEK for even being here amongst 'em!

Cool idea.

I've got an idea for perk point usage, but I'll post it in another thread.

In that case, it's time for me to set up my own charity organization.

HT how about a perk point bank. One where for a modest fee you can save perks. Transfer them to squadies, or another arena.

You know all the things we want banks to do with our money only for perk points.
