Here is part of an e-mail a friend sent me from a guy he knows in the USMC. It's absolutely beautiful. Kind of makes me think of all the soldiers that fought and died there.

Here is what he said:

The landing beaches are actually for the most part directly hidden by the F/A-18, and extending above it on the right.

Amazing to think of how many men died on such a small island.
